NEW LIST OF COLOMBIAN SCIENTISTS (PLÃ?TANO'S GOOD JOB FOR THE TOPIC)

Plátano has recently taken up the task to expose us to the great and illuminating work that some Colombian scientists are currently undertaking inside Colombia and abroad. I commend Plátano for doing that.

I, as an Engineer and a rationalist, very much appreciate and value the fascinating ouvre these fellow Colombians are doing for the well-being of, not only Colombians, but humanity as well.

I want to add a newly-found list of additional Scientists and Investigators working for the development of Reason, Science and Rationalism.

Here it's the link:

Anybody interested in the development is Colombian science, its lucrative opportunities and partnership opportunities should also visit:

Colombia (unlike South Corea and now China) would only be a truly and respected WORLD PLAYER when it realizes that its future is in the development of Science and Technology through the investment in HIGHER DOCTORAL and POST DOCTORAL education, and the DIVESTMENT of the huge GDP percentage of up to 4% going into the war. Colombia's national Research and Development budget for Science and Technology is merely 0.2%(NOT EVEN A HALF PERCENT!); in comparison a STAGGERING 20-FOLD amount goes into the WAR!!

Obviously Uribe and ALL past administrations have always PRIORITIZED wrong!!!

JUST A LITTLE TIME IS ALL THAT'S NEEDED. I guess it's more about the passion and the burning desire to share one's ideas and others' achievements. I am sure Platano takes just a little time to research all these topics on the internet before they get posted. That's what I did anyway.

ADDRESSING AND DEBUNKING " KERRY'S FACTS" The concept of a Radar was GERMAN by inception. Christian Huelmeyer invented the concept in 1904. It was later developed by other fellow German and British scientists. Obviously, the invention is German.

Radio was invented by Croatian Nikola Tesla. The concept was further developed in the United States in the late 1800's.

The concept of Electricity was discovered and developed by the Ancients Greeks, the English and French, and it was finally culminated and demonstrated by an AMERICAN, Benjamin Franklyn; one of US's founding fathers.

As for jet engines:
A German, Dr. Hans von Ohain and a British, Sir Frank Whittle are both recognized as being the co-inventors of the jet engine. Each worked separately and knew nothing of the other's work. Hans von Ohain is considered the designer of the first operational turbojet engine. Frank Whittle was the first to register a patent for the turbojet engine in 1930. Hans von Ohain was granted a patent for his turbojet engine in 1936. However, Hans von Ohain's jet was the first to fly in 1939. Frank Whittle's jet first flew in in 1941.

While is true that some of the greatest works have come from the other side of the pond, it is necessary to clarify that all that knowledge Europeans required to develop science and technology could NOT HAVE BEEN possible without the legacy of the Mesopotamians, the Ancient Greeks, the Indians, Chinese and Arabs.

I could continue debunking more "facts" but Shall I go on??

The concept of radar may have been German, but they couldn't develop it to work effectively. The British did that and it saved our asses in WW2.

I used to live very near the aerodrome where Frank Whittle developed his version of the jet engine. The idea was shared with the Americans as payment for helping in the latter stages of the war and they developed a few further refinements. As a young lad it was great going to school just down the road because the Red Arrows (precision aerobatics jets) were based there and we would be treated to free demonstrations as they practiced. Even football matches and games of conkers would stop as they flew over. The sight of a Vulcan delta wing bomber flying upside down close to the ground surrounded in an outline of Red Arrows fighter trainers is something I will never forget.

I don't see a post by Kerry, but I will disagree unless he agrees with me. Just on principle.
