NEW CONSULAR IN BARRANQUILLA

Don;t know if this has been posted yet, but the Consular's office in BARRANQUILLA now appears to have a NEW, FULL TIME CONSULAR.

For those who don;t know, the old Consular died over a year ago and the office in Barranquilla had been without a Consular since that time, flying someone in from the Embassy in Bogota one day each month (if we were lucky)

Anyway, the man's name is ALFREDO GONZALEZ RUBIO. So if you are needing Consular services in Barranquilla, your life just got much easier.

Yea, know its limited but when your stuck out here on the coast, little is better than nada. The ONE thing I will NEVER understand is WHY they put an office here and then refer lots of things to BOGOTA, offering limited services!!!

Like today, I had to telephone Bogota and get them to fax some federal forms I needed to Barranquilla, ect. The office is small so I can understand why they don;t issue ORIGIONAL visa's but why they won;t RENEW them is beyond me. But, thats the "Federal system", S.N.A.F.U.
