Neosporin or equivalent in Colombia

I've never needed to buy any, so I never asked in a pharmacy, but is Neosporin antibiotic cream (for cuts, scrapes) sold in Colombia? If not, what is the name of the equivalent? I suppose I could ask for "Crema antibiotica para cortadas", but if someone knows the specific name that would help.

There's a powder sold in Latin America that's an equivalent - Nebacetina.

If Neosporin gets you blank looks, you could always try that name.

It should be about the same as in US. Also sold in US as like a triple anti-biotic creme or something like that.

Just ask for Neosporín Dérmico, ungüento de antibiótico triple or Nebacetina Polvo or/Crema If all you can find is the powder it works fine-bandage to keep it from falling off and it will soon liquify.

ColoGring: Medications have Generic Terms (vs brands) that are usually universal.
Since Neosporin is a Brand name - here are the ingredients..maybe if you look at that it will help
Ingredients:
Bacitracin Zinc 500 units (antibiotic - good for healing)
Neomycin 3.5 mg (antibiotic)
Polymyxin B 10, 000 units (antibiotic)
and if you want to relieve pain - see if you can get an ointment/cream with Pramoxine added to the above ingredients

CatGirl, I know about the generic components, but the person that needs this is going to have it delivered to their home, so it is a lot easier to know a brand name so the pharmacy doesn't bring the wrong thing. Thanks anyway.

Yes, they do sell Neosporin in Colombia and it's just as good as the one they sell in the States. We got a tube last time we were there and it worked just fine.

The one thing about the Neosporin I buy here in the States is that I buy the one with Pain Relief. That stuff is great. But they don't have it in Colombia, just the regular kind.
