I am currently living in Panama. I am considering a move to Cartagena. I would like to travel to Cartagena within the next couple of weeks to look for an apartment. I am interested in a one or two bedroom furnished unit for at least a year. It does not have to have a water view but that would be nice. At the moment, I have no idea what rent is like there.

Can anyone put me in contact with an English speaking real estate person that can give me some ideas about rental prices via e-mail, and who can show me some apartments when I visit.

Thanks in advance

Harry

Harry,
I paid 2,ooo,ooo pesos per month from january 15 (lower season) for a 1 bedroom in laguito.
Paul Juan is a stand-up guy. Best deal though is to fight it out in the street when you arrive. Also, if you make a deal for longer than a month with anyone expect them to change their minds and force you to pay more after a month. It just drives them mad to have a gringo in theior place and not taking advantage of him.

Remember, we're all in this together.

Big mouth? Relax buddy.
I have an apartment and would probably accept an offer of 2 million pesos per month.
Why so sensitive?
By the way, I am sure your Colombian friends appreciate your "third world" comment on the video.

By the way, if you paid 2 million pesos a month for that crap hole my price just went up.

harryll03,

The best bet is to just rent something short term a week or two, then look around in that time, you should find something cheap to rent for the year.

I wouldn't bother trying to book anything long term via the net, you will get better deals on the ground, plus more importantly you will see which area you prefer to rent in for the year.
