Need Help With Legal Question

Situation: Gringo here (15 months ) on spousal visa. Getting a divorce from colombian wife.
Need to renew Visa in 1 year, probably without help of ex. What is best way to get a visa or type of visa to stay here permanently..
A friend asked me , but I have no idea. Will get an attorneys help, but was hoping somebody here had a handle on this. thanks, joe

You can always switch to the Pensionado visa providing you are receiving a monthly income from the U.S. government. I along with many other PBH members have this particular visa. After five years you become a permanent resident.
