NEED A HOTEL IN BOGOTA

Hi I am going to Bogota for 3 days next week. I need to find a nice room around 80 to 100 bucks. Anybody know of any good hotels for this price or around it.

Actually, you can get a very nice hotel room for much less than that. For about $65 a night, you can get a room at the Suites Real 85. Great location, clean, friendly, free WiFi, 2 room suites, hot water, walking distance to Zona Rosa, and a quiet and safe area. Just google that name for detailed info. It was recommended to me a year ago by a guy on this site, Toneloc if I remember correctly. Been there 3 times since.

BEWARE of gold diggers.

www.bogotacolombialodging.com I've stayed here, www.bogotacolombialodging.com about 10 times over the past few years.

You get a whole apartment for about $50 bucks a night, includes breakfast, internet, and free u.s. phone calls, the phone calls alone save me about $20 bucks a day.

Also very nice people and the owner is very knowledgeable and helpful about anything you need in Colombia.

Is the comma replacing a period when ...? Is the comma replacing the period when looking at the prices at http://www.suitesreal.com/en/tarifas85.htm ? It says that one bedroom apartment is $75,00 USD a day Since after the comma I only see two zeros, I guess that it actually means $75.00 USD a day. Correct?

flyamerican, how do you... How do you make a reservation at www.bogotacolombialodging.com web site when there is NO security web page to submit your personal information, and let alone your credit card number? Isn't that insane?

Finally I found "Viaggio Apartamentos" at http://www.viaggiosuites.com/

Also I found Hotel Virrey at http://www.hotelelvirrey.com/

try Viaggio Virrey as well (google it)

Great location, good staff, nice little apartments, about $110k COP a night. Although rates everywhere see to be rising quickly.

Best location is La Boheme if you like zona rosa. Bit pricey I think.

Has anyone stayed at Suites Real 97? I found it when I was looking at Suites Real 85. I would prefer to be closer to Parque 93 than to the Zona Rosa. I just wanted to see if anyone had stayed there.

Nice Hotels in Bogota I've had good experiences at the Boheme Royale and the Andino Royale. Both near Zona Rosa and very secure. Staff are friendly and nice plus WiFi available and breakfast is included. Very nice...I stayed there many times in late 2006/early 2007. Prices...$80-$100USD. Enjoy Colombia...I LOVE COLOMBIA!!

Suites 85 I stayed at Suites 85 last year and was generally pleased. HOWEVER, my fiancee made a reservation three weeks in advance of a planned stay this year. She reconfirmed with Suites 85 several times including immediately prior to the start of a planned WEEK stay at quoted weekly rates. When we arrived at the hotel about 9 PM, we were told that a guest in our reserved room was holding over and that no substitute accomodations were available. They said that we could stay at a noncomparable room in Suites 97 for a night or so at daily rate, then switch back to Suites 85 if and when it became available. I asked if the weekly rate would apply as promised previously. They said no, that we would have to pay regular room rate at Suites 97 for a night or so at full cost, then pay daily rates, not prorated weekly rates if we were to come back to Suites 85. We decided that they would lose our business at that point. They did not offer to comp our taxi service to another hotel either. A lot of disruption and lack of service that added "in" to the hospitality industry as in "inhospitable". Definitely NOT recommended unless you wanted to chance sleeping outside for a night.

Suite Real 97 I am going to be there the end of August. The only reason I am staying at a hotel is becuase my cousin is having a baby and the thought of spening 2 weeks in an apt. with a new baby is not my idea of fun. I have a friend who needs dental work and she doesn't speak spanish and doens't know anyone there.

I used to live off of 93b next door to the Italian Embassy and I love the area. I really miss eating at the Wok, La Estancia and the Diner. Not to mention my shampoo and blowdry for 4 bucks!!!!
