You are the first person I have heard of getting ooma. What made you decide to go with this vs Vonage? I know the hardware includes unlimited service but it is like 200 bucks. And there service features are rather limited. With Vonage if you prepay annually you get a large discount and it includes free calls to landlines in major cities here in Colombia. Plus you can route a US number to your home home here for free and route a US number to you local Comcel/Movistar/Tigo cell (but you pick up the 10 cents a minute). I saw the ooma too and considered it.

Oh, on the checking account - I have found out that with Amazon, buy.com, etc. all orders are cancelled automatically if your IP is not from the US. Maybe with the checking account you need to have a US IP when accessing their servers? Just an idea.
