PBH / colombia (travelguide, pictures) / post |
I will be heading to Cartagena next friday and I need some help on the names of mixed drinks in spanish. Everytime in Colombia I always order the same thing because I don't know what is the spanish translation of drinks that are well known in the states. Any help on this matter would be helpfull.

utopiacowboy says on Jul 27, 2005, 13:41: Cuban? Bacardi is Puerto Rican rum. I always drink Cruzan from the USVI where my friends live. "Cruisin' with Cruzan" is my motto. Or Ron Medellin when in Colombia. utopiacowboy says on Jul 27, 2005, 14:02: You've clearly had too much Bacardi, Senora. Actually you're right. Bacardi did start out in Cuba and expanded their production facilities to Mexico, Puerto Rico and Brazil. After Castro took power the family fled Cuba and their holdings there including the original distillery were confiscated. Now they produce rum from many places in the world. The rum sold in the US today under the Bacardi label is produced and bottled in Puerto Rico. utopiacowboy says on Jul 27, 2005, 14:04: I'm loyal to my friends and the USVI economy depends on rum so I'll stick with Cruzan. Wouldn't mind being there right now - the rum is cheaper than the soda that you mix it with. utopiacowboy says on Jul 27, 2005, 15:11: So you got all your knowledge from the contents of the bottle? Hmmm, that explains a lot. I hope Larry's getting the benefit of your "knowledge"!
