My travel journal for Colombia

I just finished uploading photos, videos, and comments from my two months in Colombia this summer. I thought some people on PBH might be interested to check it out. I made separate posts for Bogota, Cartagena, and Medellin.

Here is the link:

I will apologize in advance for any mistakes (I did spell-check though), or any comments with which you disagree.

I am very excited to be heading back to Medellin on Saturday. Can't wait!

Thanks for sharing SFJohn... You got some great shots... I was just in Monserrate on my recent trip.... It's a beautiful view of Bogota...

I'm not easily impressed but when I saw the home page with the map I knew it would be worth a view. The shopping looked excellent.

The link that says ""show all"" is worth it for those with higher speeds,, or even lower for that matter.

Drats, Medellin has received a lot of good press on this site lately. Guess I'll need to make a trip.

Yes, very nice selection. I've bookmarked your site and will go back to look at the other countries.

I'm curious, though, how do you manage a girl in every port? Does Nubia (Bogota) get mad when she sees bikini photos of Ildegar (Cartagena)?

Nice site, John.

What did you think of the language schools you visited? I always have people asking for recommendations in Colombia.

Which other countries? The man is lost, Tinto, he's staying in Medellin! :-)

Good work, John! Look forward to see you again for a drink or two...

by the way, did you enjoy KL? the petronas towers are amazing. loved your evening shots. i have lots of daytime shots myself (the sheen in the sunlight cannot be captured on film). i used to love to look out of my hotel room window and see the towers lit up at night. simply beautiful.

Thanks for all the nice feedback everyone!

Tinto - Nubia and Ildegar are both just friends... really.

Mr. Hollywood - NuevaLengua was a good school, and unique in offering classes in three cities, but it is not the least expensive for people on a budget. Also, the classes in Bogota are actually at the Universidad de la Sabana in Chia, so you need to take the transmilenio and then a small flota bus to get there.

robi666 - You are correct, Medellin has ruined me for all other destinations. I will be there Saturday. Let's hook up at Oviedo.

houstongal - KL was great. I actually went back for NYE and had a great time.

John, great fotos of Colombia!!!, I have been to many of the places you featured in your presentation. My wife is a Bogotana, and My Son-in-Law is from Cartagena as is his parents.
The Pretalts. I am planning to finish my life in Colombia very soon. I feel the country is still
way behind in The U S culture which is a good thing!!! I hate to see the big "Box Stores" such as Walmart and others come to Colombia and destroy the little business people. They are the heart and soul of Colombia!!!. The Colombians are kind hearted people who have been
much maligned by Hollywood in there films. Some one should do a documentary on the real Colombia! My brother in Laws could help them as they are in that industry. Thanks for the fotos of the real Colombia!!!
