I have a beauty of Medellin at night, but still need to shrink it to get it on the site.

The picture with no oxygen: Two places that I was where I included pictures on this site are privately owned launch places for Para-gliders and hand-gliders. My fiancee's dad is the head of the hand gliders assication of Medellin. Apparently they had to move away from the city a bit for hand gliders due to the proximity to the downtowm Medellin airport. I was shocked to see the planes below me going through the valley to land about 1km from the buildings downtown!!

I do not know the names of these places (My Spanish is still dreadfull and I cannot remember what I was told) but they are overlooking Medellin, about 40 minute drive from the city.

My fiancee would kill me if she knew her pictures were on the site!! She still thinks shes fat from being in the USA for 4 years. I think she is crazy, but now that she is in Medellin, where girls all look like models, she wants to drop some pounds before going out into public!!

Medellin girls are quite vain when it comes to their looks... and well, it pays off. I would have to say they are the most beautiful in the world (San Diego California is #2) and I've been to lot of places.

While we were living in California, she kept telling me how people in her city were much more atractive than in San Fran Bay Area. Now I'm from a small town in Canada, and I thought California had some pretty attrative people (girls and guys). I always thought she was bias... untill I went to Medellin. To be honest, I wasn't looking at the guys, and when i was looking at the girls I had to be careful not to to get in trouble. Its hard not to. They all have beautiful black hair (except for the ones who ruin their beauty by bleaching their hair blond), they have beautiful figures (if anyone has been to Spain, you'll know what I mean), they dress sexy, and the racial mix gives them a distinct look. Unfortunately, in Medellin, you will see a lot of bum jobs and boob jobs and bleached hair... if they only knew that it ruins their beauty... Oh, and almost all them show their midriff?? and it doesn't hang over their waste line!!! (Like mine would LOL).

Another thing, Colombian guys are not much taller than Colombia girls (in Medellin anyway). I felt like a giant while I was there, and I am only 6' 1" (185cm). Her friends always made comments about how tall I am, and they could not believe that I am around average heigtht where I'm from. I wacked my head a multitude of times (and fell on my face too... lots of funny steps and obsitcles in public places that don't exist in North America because everyone sues everyone in sight when they trip).

I'd have to agree, she's far from it. You two make a good couple. Talking about hair color, my girlfriend usually keeps hers dyed black but her natural color is the darkest deep red I've ever seen. When it grows out a little bit, you'd have to be pretty close and know what you were looking for to even notice it. I know what you meen by feeling like a giant. I am 6'5" (195cm) and I keep getting all kinds of strange looks from EVERYBODY. I still get some people thinking that I'm colombian until I start talking, but I'm just a tall white gringo. I keep getting told that I'm too skinny, which I thought was kind of funny for awhile. There are great things to enjoy in Colombia, and I'm looking forward to sharing it with my girlfriend (who by the way I'm working on getting married to) and with her daughter.

great pics dave Hey Dave, when I went to Bogotá and Medellin, I felt very tall too, but I’m from Barranquilla, Colombia. The guys in the interior of the country (cachacos) anyone south of Monteria, are much shorter than the people from the Caribbean coast. I’m 6 feet and have a good number of nephews in Barranquilla, taller than me. I’m dying to get my daughter (USA born) to visit Colombia, this girls is a knockout at 5’9”, but like most Americans, she thinks that is too dangerous, no matter how many videos I show her of her beautiful relatives, her age, dancing and having a great time. I wish I could post a picture of her but I’m too damn dumb to figure this thing out. .

I'm sorry to hear that your colombian-(north)american daughter is afraid to visit Colombia. It's unfortunate that she apparently has that ignorant image of Colombia that most (north) americans have. She doesn't know what she's missing! Is her mother also colombian? Why didn't you take her to Colombia when she was little (like my parents did with me, thank God!)?

Oh and by the way, my family is from the 'interior' and I'm six feet tall so don't try to make us all out as midgets!

Many people are afraid of traveling there, including USA born Colombians and that’s a fact. They watch the news and all they see is war, misery and danger, and whey they show something “positive “is that Juan Valdes with his damn donkey or that very famous “chiva” with the chickens and goats on top. If all I saw was that, I would not want to go either
The reason they did not go to Colombia was that they were having too much of a good time in resorts in the Dominican Republic where their mother is from, also Florida and other places. Meanwhile, I was doing my yearly trips back home “solo” and that was more fun. .
Most of my present paisa wife’s friend are from Medellin and Bogotá and most are very small, must be that mountain air or strong indigenous blood. Here in Barranquillla we have more “turco” Arab and black.

what do you guys think about this. My fiance's family has a place about 25 min from Medellin next to Geradota. WE are thinking about renting a car so we are able to get around easier. She has a licience ,,,,,,,,,,but what about me. Gringo from US. Driving!!!. I did it a little in the times past.. just want to hear some suggestions,, like a internation licence.. are there really such a thing. Pray for me!!!,,, interview on aug 27 for k1-- started this

when am I going back?... well that depends on my provincial government and the Colombian consulate in Toronto. I come from a country where a man can legally marry another man, but to legally marry a Colombian women.... Holey SH*T its difficult!! Have to wait for paperwork, translations, VISAs, etc...
