Colombians love electronics gadgets as much as the next guy and are less brand conscious than the next guy. Anyone who can afford the 40USD can afford to download songs in your place. I hope you have a fast connection. In Medellín you don't see that may people with headphones because they are afraid of theft. I'm sure BAQ is less of a worry. You checked out the competition - good job.

I didn't see to many people in Villavicencio with earphones either - same reason - theft. But I am sure Ipod types of media players 'cheap' would be very popular in Colombia. You might be on to something.

It would be good deal if the users remain in the computer all the time, but what happens is that they put lots of music and else to download, then leave the place, and comeback later on. This way they just consume lots of bandwidth while they go to study or to their office.
