Lazy Friday night with food and movies. Saturday morning walk and lazy outdoor breakfast. I like Lechona at Carrulla or Exito for breakfast. I am boycotting Carrefour as they won't give out the points card to people with Cedula de extranjeria. Sometimes a crepes and waffles breakfast to change pace. Family start arriving to the house around 2pm for a great BBQ which turns into a party into the night. Crash around 12pm. Sunday morning up early and off to the golf course. Steam Room and shower. Sunday lunch outside Bogota. I like Humero in Chia though it does not have the green parks ect... Traffic Home! Shower again and into the PJs for computer, t.v., fireplace, book, whatever. That's my weekend.

Going to a small town and hang out at the park.
Go to a river with a pot of sancocho to eat while drying out in the sun.
Going for a walk by Campos de Paz and eating a fruit salad on the way home.
Going to the movies at the Molinos and then going to an asadero on la 80.
Going to my cousin's finca in Santuario.
Going swimming.
Going dancing.

Repeat all of the above, Saturday, Sunday and Monday if it's "Puente"! =D

Friday out to la playa with a cooler of costeƱitas, relax, talk chit, eat most of the chit they sell on the beach, ceviche, mango biche with salt etc...then grab some street food before we head home, take a shower, change and head out to the plaza, find out what going on, mostly likely hit a bar by el amparo in CTG, then end back up at a local estanco usually Juancho's and listen to some Diomedes Diaz

Saturday morning arepa huevo & kola roman for breakfast, then head out to a local recreational finca with a swimming pool, pool tables, restaurant, bar. ($2.000 mill barras la entrada) jump in the pool, shoot some pool, talk chit about last night, then head home take a shower, get changed, everyone meets back up at my cousins, go to the plaza, eat dinner, relax then head out to CTG , mostly likely a discoteca on Sat. not sure what happens next.

Friday noon: go to JV cafe beside Andino mall, order a big latte and a chocolate muffin that looks good but tastes horrible. Flirt with the cashier. Sit down and stare at the girl cleaning up, wondering if I have a chance. Decide probably yes but she has too many tattoos.

4 hours later, go for a stroll. Fight off the guys trying to sell me rolexes and sunglasses. I have turned them all down 5 times a day, every day, over the course of several months, but they still try.

Go for a run or to the gym. Shower, head back to zona rosa to have a drink at the pub or BBC.

Greet all the waitresses and wonder if I have a shot with any of them. Ask them if they have found a girl for me yet? Try to figure out what they babble at me.

Order the chicken fingers and chips. Damn good bar food.

Get my table outside and watch the crowd go by. Try to stop smiling like a fool. Try not to think about having to leave Sunday.

Stare at all the girls at other tables, wondering if the guys they are with are novios, primos, tios, amigovios, etc. Try to avoid making eye contact with the heavy set older woman in stretchy pants waving at me.

Get pleasantly drunk on casillero del diablo, or maybe vodka tonic ("geen toneek??" No, vodka tonic. "vodka???" si. "con toneek???" si "De donde eres?")

Fall into slight daze at the table and then jump in surprise when some strikingly beautiful girl at the table next to me leans over to ask where I am from.

Move to her table and try to figure out if the guys are her friends or what? Is she just being nice to a lonely guy or ??

Try to resist drinking the flaming green and blue concoction the guys have ordered for me. Not possible.

.Drink another one. They clearly see me as a threat sober.

Start whispering in the beautiful girl's ear. I have no idea what I say.

They invite me to a party or club or something. Try to make an intelligent decision, but then say 'oh fuck it who cares let's go'.

Pile into some tiny car, the beautiful girl sits on my lap. I'm happy.

I have no idea where we go, but we generally stop and I run into a store to buy a bottle of rum.

Look at my watch, it's 1 AM. Go somewhere dancing until 3 or 4.

Maybe wake up with a new girlfriend, or maybe just a really bad hangover.

Head to Baguette (?) for breakfast. Wonder if the waitress is just friendly or ????

I think I laid out the scenario for my typical weekend. My favorite weekend really looks a bit more like this: Penalisa, Girardot. Rental House with huge pool right on the course. Take off out of Bogota around 3pm skipping work early. Hit the carretera to Melgar via La Mesa passing prudently avoiding head ons and borradores. Arrive after dark and immediately hit the pool. Let the women prepare the food while the cunados hit the sello negro. Bullshit til late at night and sleep with a fan on me on a tierra caliente matress. Lechona as always for breakfast. Probably requires a market run in the car to find the breakfast. Afternoon of hammock and pool. Arroz con Pollo, Frijoles and sanwiches will be the menu for the weekend. Evening of tunes and festivities. Sunday early round on the links. Late afternoon is a long drive with lots of traffic to la Gran Ciudad. Monday in Bogota is not easy and Sunday return to Bogota is painful.
