She does not like england, she feels she has no family here. She is extremely irritable and depressed. Her family are a depressed family as well. I would like to know how often a colombian wife wants to move back to colombia

Colombia is beautiful, so I can understand why she is home sick. If you want her to be happy, then you'll let her go back.

Pete E says on Jan 26, 2006, 18:14: Missing Colombia Most Colombianas go through a hard time initially. They miss their family and friends. And depending on where she moved to it can be VERY different.Even in California where I took my ex wife, she missed all the activity as well as her friends and family. And there were lots of latins around.Once she met enough spanish speaking people she was OK with it.And the weather is pretty good there.

Dolfi says on Jan 27, 2006, 01:39: Well, I am looking forward to live with my future wife from Medellín in Germany, and I hope she won´t get too homesick. One thing for sure ist that we are planning to spend our holiday in Colombia every year, and if my job allows it to spend extended periods of time over there, at least the 3 to 4 winter months. I like Colombia very much, but I wouldn´t want to live there for the rest of my life, because I like my home country too; the same ist true about my girlfriend, so we´ll have to look for a compromise.

WTF!! Where the hell am I? Where are all the other colombians? This is not USA! I’m in freaking London!!! I guarantee that you will not live to see tomorrow. lockheed says on Jan 31, 2006, 18:18: Be Alert Well 99% of the time I have seen this happen is because the Colombiana has someone else and she misses him, usually they start to travel to Colombia for 1 month and then they will extend to 6 months and then longer, I have a friend that recently had this problem, he has been 12 years with her. Any Colombiana would tel you that their place is next to the man they love.

rocinante says on Feb 1, 2006, 04:50: I'd be homesick in England too Mango, I think it's very common for almost anyone to want to return to their homeland. How could you ask such a question? Try this experiment: Move to a country where no one speaks your language, shares your culture, your family and friends are so far away, the weather is much colder - like Siberia (ha!). Maybe there will be a few TV stations that broadcast in English - From an Australian network - hey, it's not a TV station from home but at least the Aussies speak your language. cali373 says on Feb 1, 2006, 06:14: I think most Colombians go thru this (especialy women) when they first leave Colombia. The first two winters ARE THE WORST. Mind you we leavein a nice suburb in NEW Jersey. Now that it has been four years she likes Jersey more than I do. In fact Jersey is killing me and I never liked it. Just tell your wife to hang it their and be VERY GLAD that she does not live in NEW JERSEY. And do not move to Queens or Jersey, because both of you will hate it. Smile if you are a thinker! 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

fugdis says on Feb 1, 2006, 10:07: going back kat1.I know many colombians, singles and couples, here in london that want to stay, lots of them come over, get settled, then bring their kids over with a view to staying forever. Some came over to work their asses off doing four or five jobs so they can take some money home with them.Usually when the subject of going back to colombia is raised, its always the men that want to go back and the women that want to stay.

quindioman says on Feb 1, 2006, 10:14: that might have a ring of truth to it fugdis. As far as I'm concerned 22 years is way more than enough for me in London....don't get me wrong, I owe a lot ot England but I've been wanting out for a few years now and Colombia's call keeps getting louder. I know people in both camps but in general the longer you're here the less you seem to want to go back (except in my case it seems).

fugdis says on Feb 1, 2006, 10:34: why? Quindioman,i know of two couples where the man wants to go back but the women dont because they are are convinced that some younger calena is gonna come along and steal their man and that is the only reason they dont want to go.22 years is a long time, life in england has become a bit of a slog for the tax paying working man.If you can get some money together and head on down to colombia i`m sure there will be many more opportunities than in tired old london
