My Cali trip

Well I did it. I went to Cali Colombia. Yes, for a woman I met on Amigos.com. After corresponding with her for 6 months I decided to go see her. I will admit I was really scared to go to Colombia and had many sleepless nights thinking, what the hell am I doing. Family and friends told me how stupid I was to go to Colombia and all for some women. They thought I was crazy. Well I’m not crazy and I have no trouble finding women here in the US, I just wanted an adventure and really wanted to meet this lady whom is beautiful and not like most of these American women. Also I love to dance Salsa and herd about all the places to dance and the beautiful women there. I studied everything I could about Cali and Colombia. I live in California so I flew out of San Francisco to Miami and then to Cali for $760.00 on American Airlines. The day was long but the flights was good, no problems. She and her friend picked me up at the airport in Cali and then I started two of the best weeks of my life. Each day was better then the last, I had the best time and the days flew by, I did not want to leave. I never felt like I was in danger the people I meet were great! And the women, oh my god there are so many gorgeous women in Cali. Also the food was good I never got sick. The only thing I didn’t like was the heat and humidity, but after two day I was use to it. My terrible Spanish got a little better too. I say don’t worry go and have fun! You will be glad you did, I am.

My trip to colombia this past February I had a great time went I went to Cali for the last two weeks in February.I must have partied every night. And i know the feeling you were feeling about not wanting to leave trust me it also hit me hard. Especially when you get back to the ststes and start working again its like you feel lost. Colombia is a great place to visit and enjoy no one should feel threatened or scared to visit this country.

Yep....that's the experience I had too.... I really wasn't nervous going to Colombia but I just didn't know what to expect. You can read these and other message boards all you want but it doesn't do anything to actually get over the unknown till you are there. I travel quite a bit all over the world and I've never met a friendlier group of people.

I never felt at risk and I walked around by myself all hours of the day and night. I went up to Cristo Rey, I even went up to Kilometer 18. It was interesting driving up into the Andes Mountains at first seeing slums then having it turn into nice estates.

It's funny because I was on Amigos.com a few years ago mainly to practice my Spanish. I would get dozens of emails every week from girls all over South America but mainly from Colombia. I never really took them too seriously because I never thought I'd be in Colombia. I did end up dating a girl from Mexico for a while.

I'm not really into meeting girls online. I think the best way to meet a nice girl there is to just go to Colombia and do everyday things. I met a wonderful girl while I was going to get a manicure, and therapeutic massage. I also met tons of girls just walking about ChipiChape mall.

It was very difficult to leave and I even changed my plane ticket one time in order to stay longer. I'm going to Machu Picchu in 2 weeks and I'm flying in the girl I met to spend time getting to know her better. I'll probably go back to Colombia in June and July as well for several weeks.

I can't say anything better about the people there. They are very warm and friendly. The families also seem to be very close knit. More so than other countries I've been to in South America. I took my girl's family out to dinner and just was blown away by how great of a relationship they have.

People can say all they want about how dangerous Colombia is but hopefuly one day they can experience the positives of a country. I think the most valuable asset there is the people. I'm looking forward to traveling around to other cities in Colombia.
