Some peculiar things have happened: the young man at the Museo Nacional told me to take out my chewing gum this morning! I suppose it's some rule, to prevent the hoi-polloi sticking gum to some priceless artefact?
As I entered the museum beforehand, past the electric controls, the lady-guard asks me where are you going? The museum, I said, I was standing in it.. Moments like thist make me realize I´m far more of a liberal than I imagine, in spite of my speeches praising president Uribe. I cannot abide anyone in uniform adopting an authoritarian tone, not with me anyway. jeje
A pleasant city otherwise, much amused by the Edwardian residential buildings - denoting nordic aspirations in the late 19th century, like the Germanic helmets worn by their army on parade.. marvellous
anyone know any vegetarian eateries in the Chapinero/Teusaquillo area please? I think I´m getting meat poisoning. thks..
