Moving to Medellin/Sabaneta - June 29, 2006

I will be moving to Medellin June 29th and will be looking for an apartment in the area of Sabaneta. I would prefer a furnished apartment, but I can purchase the basics items if required. (price 700K to 1,000,000 COP) Internet connection is important.

I will also be looking for short term lodging until I acquire the apartment and would appreciate any information.

Bed and Breakfast in Medellin Hello Ric. We MAY have a short term solution for your stay in Medellin...until you find an apartment in Sabeneta. We live in a very nice section of Laureles, in a quiet neighborhood. Our family owns the building, and we are on the top (3d floor) of the building. The rent is US$250.00 per month for the room, or US$140.00 per week (if only for one week.) We believe that it is easy transportation from Medellin to Sabeneta. Please write to us if you are interested. Thanks,

Sabaneta I like Sabaneta, it is a good alternative to Poblado and Prado Centro - it is slightly on the edge, but it is still mixed-use and self-sustained. It is really a very moderate place, making it perfect for middle-aged folk. I did 2 days worth of research, on the ground, into the real estate in this area at the end of April. I am in Berlin now and cannot show you what I found (talk about a change), but I can give you phone numbers....

2887109 - House in Center, interesting if you want to have someone else pay your rent..
2887362 - Another House
3113891177 or 3773897777 - bigger house.

To be honest, I don't remember which is which, but there was one in particular owned by a Dutch guy that was beautifully situated.

Whatever you do, dont move to Itagui instead.
