With a Cedula Temporal you will have problems too. I have managed many years without an Colombian account,its not that important,even if you are buying property..bank charges are expensive.

With a temporary cedula you can get a "saving" account here.....no overdraft facility. I have open about 4 without problems, all with my scruffy looking laminated Cedula Temporal.

you can open an account, but this will be a slow process, waiting for the contraseña....are you buying a business or setting one up? as there are ways around it. You will not be able to tranfer funds to your account when you open it for 6 months. However you can transfer money direct to your creditors showning the proper purchase papers. Being nosey what business do you want to set up here in Cali?...there are many good opportunaties for the right businness, good luck
