How does one go about moving their belongings to Colombia? I'm talking about a Whole household full of items. Is it best to sell most of your stuff in the states and buy new stuff once in Colombia? What kind of Import tax is there on personal belongings? What are the cost for moving a large amount of Items by a shiper?

Lowell says on Sep 20, 2007, 06:19: Dump the stuff and buy new with Colombian warranties. I moved a bunch of stuff (1000 kilo's) via Avianca Deprisa at about 50 cents a pound, only because my wife had been gone from Colombia for over 2 years and had duty free status for the return of goods. I only paid about $35.00 in taxes for some of my power tools. Alfred E. Newman. "What. Me Worry?" 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
