MOSTLY NICE DAY TODAY IN MEDELLIN

Yeah it rained again but not for as long. I got caught up in it heading from the new Palma Real C.C. to San Diego C.C. Was going to pay taxi to protect new purchases from water but after seemed like half hour with no taxi in sight in the new PR garage hoofed it to the Exito San Diego then back home to hotel and not caring to go back out again even though my mind wanted to (exhausted physically and mentally).

Also toured more of the Estadio sports complex, end of the metro line (San Javier) which by the way they are busy finishing the new set up cable cars up into the beautiful hills which I thin is great. Helps a lot of lower income people more easily and economically get to their jobs. Also toured the nice sports complex in Belen and a nice neighborhood nearby. Whew! Last 3 days WILL NOT be as busy as the first 3, I hope.

The metrocable in San Javier will help but to really help economically, the metro and metroplus should run 24/7 even at simply one train/bus an hour so people can get work that ends at midnight or 2am. When the metro stops, they don´t shut off the lights and lock the doors so they are already paying servicios and security during those wee hours. I think the trains would be packed late night with restaurant, mall and bar/club workers, so how much extra cost could it be vs. how much extra employment/economic benefit?

I totally agree with sprigrimace. There have been many nights that I have been in bello or Niquia and return home to Guayabal around 2 or 3 am. Sucks paying like 15k or more for a taxi.

Can't wait to see how packed the main metro line will be after they complete the new cable car. Already can barely get on it as it is during rush hour.

Good idea, Spig. How do we get it done?
