most dear brother, peter......

once again, i implore you to change the position of comments from most recent, last, to most recent, first. common buddy, it makes sense. my scrolling fingers are worn out. i damn sure don't want to read the comments again, and again, and again, ad nauseum...

i just want to check in, check out the latest, comment if i so choose and get on with the toil of wading through the posts.

por favor, senor.

If the "New" link worked everytime I would be perfectly happy with how the site is set up. But for some reason clicking on "New" doesn't always take you to the last comment that you read. Peter...did you ever figure out why it doesn't work all the time?

Yeah, and then you'll have to stand on your head if you want to read a thread from top to bottom.

If you log in, you get nice "NN new" links next to each post you've read already, try those.

preach brother preach!! lets pray to our gods that the new posts are on top!!!

Don't agree.
As in every forum, threads, newsgroups, etc. The order is from original post to reply, to reply, to reply and on towards the newest reply. It would be weird opening a post, reading a question ("where to live in Medellin?") and right under it having the latest reply as "you know, my dog used to do that". Only to find out there was a lengthy discussion prior to that... Don't give in Peter ;-)

Hey Peter, I had a post up about Colombian Women for one day and it just fell off the board after many comments.....what gives with that?

Leeroy says on Sep 30, 2007, 13:39:

Posts containing the words "Colombian women" tend to do that...

Lostgringo says on Sep 30, 2007, 22:19:

Sorry Peter but I agree too. It's hard to follow and most people just do not have the to "surf" the site every time for updated posts.

Are you guys clicking on "Active"? That shows the most updated posts in order of most recent comment. Between "Active" and "New" (only seen if you log in), scrolling isn't really a problem.

It works fine for me - when it works. For some reason, you don't always go to the first unread post. Sometimes it skips a few unread posts. Sometimes it goes to the first post, read or unread.

gringoloid says on Oct 1, 2007, 07:23:

thur....you can scroll to the bottom and read up if you like that method; nothing changes for you.

but some of these threads are getting to be 200-300 comments on a regular basis and a pain in the ass to scroll down.

I pointed out recently that pbh is up 25% in traffic this year and if this continues, next year we'll be looking at 4,5,600 comment threads on a regular basis.

(If you guys would stop worrying about crime and also quit sending money to your novias we could calm down the ant hill!!)

maybe this is a benign dictatorship; could we do it as an experiment? If it doesn't work, we can always go back.
