With respect to the Korean War, here is a quote I used in my thesis from David Bushnell's book, The Making of Modern Colombia:

"the Colombian batallion made one of the best combat records of any of the units participating, suffered a full quota of casualties, and won sincere praise of United Nations commanders."

It should also be noted that they were the only Latin American country to send troops.

g_s: Villegas Editores have put out several excellent books with pictures, but I am not sure if any are historical in nature. I do not know or own any history books w/ great photos. David Bushnell has written several good books about Colombian history. Frank Safford and Marco Palacios wrote "Colombia: Fragmented Land, Divided Society" (it is excellent). Marco Palacios wrote Between Legitamacy and Violence. Jenny Pearce wrote Colombia: Inside the Labyrinth. I'd purchase several history books, none that I have found are complete.

Ajusticiamiento de los autores materiales del fallido atentado contra el entonces presidente de Colombia, Rafael Reyes, llevado a cabo hacia las 11 AM del 10 de febrero en Bogotá.

Carlos Roberto González, Juan Ortiz, Fernando Aguilar y Marco Salgar sorprendieron a Reyes y su hija Sofía mientras realizaban un paseo en coche por Chapinero, en el sector conocido como Barro Colorado (actual Carrera Séptima con Calle 45).

Pese a arremeter varias veces contra ambos, todos los disparos resultaron fallidos.

Contrario a lo que entonces ocurría, se daba relevancia a la marca "Bavaria", por encima de otros productos.

La Bavaria Pilsener se produjo con el mismo diseño de etiqueta desde los años diez hasta principios de los sesentas.

El diseño básico varió sutilmente. La etiqueta de 1912 es una de las mejor impresas y con más detalles.

Carlos Horacio Urán, an auxiliary justice of the Council of State. Evidence seems to suggest that he survived the siege only to be found dead later:
