Moderation please!! (and not from the moderators)

Ok I've been a member of this site for quite a while (probably since Seth and I got engaged and we started looking into visa stuff)... and I like it... I've learned a lot, I received a lot of guidance during my visa process, I've met really nice people with very wise opinions, I've laughed a lot at kernows and ucs jokes, I've get mad to a**h***s that talk down on colombian women, etc etc.

But its just sad to see how our lack of moderation and understanding is killing this place. Why cant we discuss things in a calm and peaceful way. Many times we wont agree with each other but thats life... and it happens in every context... and you cant just start insulting for that.

And about that or those persons with nothing to do but start posting non sense trash on the site... why dont we just ignore them/him... I think that paying atention and focusing entire threats on that that kind of people is harming the site as well...

The non-virtual world (e.g. the country this forum is about) has enough trouble so we start stupid troubles in the virtual one

Again... and my favorite like... "Just a thought"

And a very wise thought it is, Silvia. Actually, because there are sweet people like you who read the posts, sometimes I have felt guilty later for things I wrote when I let myself get upset. I for one, will practice more moderation.

imho, the only way to stop it is for the moderators to delete those who are extraordinarily offensive, but that's tempered with allowing some discussions to become heated as it livens up the board.

Thank you for your compliment, Silvia. I just saw yours too. You make a very handsome couple, and I'm wondering if that picture was taken in Oregon? Wherever it was, it looks great.

i'm new to this site and learned a lot about Colombia but i have to weed through many bad posts. posters like Mario are very vulgar and should be banned. his posts under Ratbag are disgusting. i never heard such horrible things over the internet.

Mario - Colombia Forum has your I.P. address and it matches Ratbag's. when Utopiacowboy learns the truth you will never be able to look him in the eye again. how sad.
