yeah AZ that's what I have been doing. Would much rather hear about world news than 24/7 MJ channel so just turn it off.

Oh by the way I still own an old CRT version weighing over 50 lbs. so if the enemy wants it when I donate they can get up off their lazy asses and come pick it up instead of bitching all the time.

Yes, too much of this and there appears to be something going on most of the time on Spanish language channels. But we have the option of turning the TV off. Some people find that decision hard.
In Colombia, what does one watch?
For our house, the sports channels for footie, tennis.
Nat Geog, History channel, Infinity.
Anything good from the UK, like Morse, Lewis, Prime Suspect.
The occasional film. Amen.
News generally is rubbish and over-hyped, so I read the BBC by internet.

In the UK during the sixties and seventies, I recall Winston Churchill's death and that was an extravaganza. But like him or loath him, he was famous in many ways and was not only a war-leader, but an artist, historian etc.
People like Jim Morrison, Hendrix, Joplin and the likes received a mention and a documentary.
In the eighties, Lennon's murder was covered more significantly, but nothing like Wacko.
Now, things are out of hand here over Jackson; they just do not seem content to let the guy rest in peace. Perhaps there is such little imagination left within the people who run these TV channels that they think this is the thing to do. Let's forget about the world's troubles and be diverted with non-stop Jacko. I need to ask friends and family what the coverage in the UK is.
Just shows the state of TV these days and also the reason why I choose to watch less and less of it.
