stayed there I rented a unit for one million pesos for 30 days from a private owner. It is still under construction, but the unit I stayed on the 14th floor was a 3 bedroom unit with a bathroom and ceramic floors and brand new. It was also fully furnished down to paper towels, salt pepper, towels etc. The view was excellent and had a nice swimming pool and 24hr security, the taxis bring you into the building. I never went walking in the area but the portaria, the store there on the corner will deliver whatever you need. it´s probably in La Mota on the 80 past DAS on the way to Poblado. I think it´s nice and safe. Others may differ opinion. Try Lomas de Bernal. It´s like Poblado style towers and condos over on the other side of the rio medellin.

However there is carerra 76 in Belen a few blocks down from the 80. Not as nice as La Mota or Lomas de Bernal but I wouldn´t say it´s a place Im scared of either.

I'll be dammed. I was just looking at a map. The 80 and the 76 do intersect way down south. It's not too far from the city airport.
