MiamiMikes' Dentist Recommendation

One thing I forgot to mention regarding our trip was that on the recommendation of MiamiMike, (a post of his) we made an appointment to see the dentist he uses in Bogota.

I was extremely impressed with her skill and professionalism. She runs the office by herself. It's very organized and modern. My wife saw her about six times. She had some cosmetic work done and some of her silver fillings replaced. She let me hang out with her in my wife in the treatment area. By the fifth appointment her and my wife were already at the hug and kiss stage.

I would totally recommend her for any type of procedure. She is super thorough. Our entire bill, and this is with no insurance mind you, was $250.00.

We will definitely use her again.

Strobers Nice to hear You were satisified with my Dentist My Dental work also is holding up well 4 years later! Her computerized Patient Dental record is very interesting. The software was designed in Colombia. Very efficient.

On Sept 17, 2008: Senator John McCain said, as he had many times before, that he believed the fundamentals of the economy were "strong."Hours later he backpedaled, explaining that he had meant that American workers were Strong.

Snr Medellin-Londres!!!! You beat me to it (and I thought I was so freaking smart too).

Glad to hear the dentistry went well. I had silver filings replaced here in Armenia and had to re-replace some some time later (lot of repeats in that last sentence, huh?). This was a good place too. One thing odd here is that they don't do full X-rays on patients. Where is this dentist for the next time for me. Anyone do any LASIK at all in Colombia?

You did it again!!! "She let me hang out with her "in" my wife is what started the whole thing, the kiss line just added to it. The kiss line was normal to me, but the line before it is what turned the kiss line into something

I don't think I'm all that perverted. Look, 4 people responded to your post, 2 of them had something jump out at them. It's not like one in a hundred people focused on something, it was half of them. Hey, you're the one having a trio in your wife's dentist's office...

Miami MIke I like you Mike but you have a short memory lol. Yes my teeth are doing excellent. I am in Bogota now and will be getting a few dental fillings removed and having porcelain ( I think that is what it is) put in.

englishshettler..this dentist is located in Bogota. She actually lives in the apartment building just across the street from me. Quite often she would pick me up and take me to her office. Only drawback from my point of view is that she does not speak very much English. She does however have a girlfriend who will come to her office and help out with the interpretation.
By the way, we rent out our apartment/rooms her in Bogota welovebogota.com

By the fifth appointment? "By the fifth appointment her and my wife were already at the hug and kiss stage"?

What took so long? is what I am wondering. Unusual, to hear of such Colombianas Despacias.

(still pickin on ya, strobers, in fun.)

$250 ??? for all that work? That is a steal. Damn. I am going to have to go start some 'Practice Management Seminars for Dentistas Colombianas'. That's thievery on your part, strobers; you should feel ashamed of yourself (lol). Or, perhaps start a travel/dentistry agency, taking plane loads of gringos to Bogota for dental work every other week. Dental prices in the states can very greatly, from one office to the next, but I am figuring what you (she) had done, would likely have cost you around $2,000; maybe $3,000 or more in the usa.

thanks for all your reports of your trip strobers; for being helpful, kind, and courteous (unlike the rest of us)..

Why Colombianitas? Personally... I just don't like pink areolar tissue.

galecito, there are places like that. I think singapur has a clinic that is a hotel as well for family that accompanies patients. I saw a special where if say dad needed heart surgery, it was cheaper for 3 people (mom dad and child say) to fly there, FIRST CLASS, have the surgery, recuperate (while taking in the culture), and it would still be greatly cheaper than said surgery in the states.

Miami Mike's Dentis Mike are you sure she lives in the area you posted. She lives in the apartment building right from our partment building wich is around Calle 22, Conjunto, Salitre Pijao. She used to drive me to most of my appointments. Thanks for the plug for the apartment Mike. We may not meet here in Bogota as I am actively looking for an apartment in Medellin. I spent the weekend there this week. The weather is so perfect there. I fell in love with Medellin.
