Mexico to run most of the cable business in colombia

NOT GOOD! Se apodero del pais Carlos Slim.

It is my understanding that in Mexico cable television is very expensive. Available only to the upper classes, while in Colombia is relatively cheap, even strata 2 people can afford it!. If this guy runs out of business the other cable companies, then there will be no one there to stop him from rising the prices. NOOOOOO. Not good . Oh bugger.

Fox didnt take anything, Fox is the baby station they have only been around for a few years but the people know they will get a better idea of the real news with out it being slanted to the left. So people tune into FOX news and that has made Fox number one.Fox has more viewers than all the other cable news channels combined.
You have to ask yourself if fox is so bad and is taking us back to the 40's and 50's then why is everyone watching it, there are other news channels to watch why would more people tune into fox that is so bad when they can watch any number of other cable news channels????

Ummm, Fox News = the angry white man channel. It's one of the main reasons that Bush is still in office. We've seen how that turned out. Worst US president in history. Some people can't think for themselves as a result, they listen to loud-talking idiots. As a result, the USA deserves the crap that comes with being so incompetent. We got a president that reflects the population. Yeaaaa!!!!! We asked for it, we got it.

Re: Slim now controlling the Colombian cable market. Next will be the telecom industry there as well. Comcel will become Com-Mex. Caracol will be Caramex.

Next, they're gonna knock down Mag Mondongos and put up a Taco Bell. LOL!!!!

Fucking sellouts!!!!

Tinto (Moderator) says on Nov 5, 2007, 15:14:

Carlos Slim's America Movil (NYSE: AMX) already owns Comcel. A year or two ago Telmex tried to buy Colombia Telecom, too, but that deal was scotched because it wasn't transparent or open to enough bidders or something like that.

So...the hypothetical Colombian might be buying "triple play" service (cable, internet, phone) from Telmex, cellular service from Americal Movil/Comcel, listening to Mexican cumbias or rancheros, while sitting in his concrete apartment (CEMEX) and washing it all down with a nice refreshing Coca-Cola or Agua Manantial (FEMSA of Mexico).

You're right, the only thing missing from a complete authentic Mexican experience is Taco Bell.

“Once you control communications, you control the country!" Elmo, I agree with you with 100%!
With all the respect to our great and hard working Mexicans, we Colombians are only known for the best cocaine, you have seen how Mexican tycoons in the media love to monopolize and take control of foreign productions, for instance, music, novela and movies, once they take control of communications in Barranquilla and other major voltiarepa cities in Colombia they are going to want to sell their products and brand several Colombians fine productions as their own.
Guys and gals, you do not have to believe, just take a look how they have been doing in the past and up to now, and also check it out here on pbh, in retrospect every time they have a chance they love post propaganda or products about their country.

Costa Atlantica will be like Medellin no where to find Colombian music, hundreds of Mexicans restaurants will open and tacos and the rest of the menu will be the meal of the day.

Colombia needs to follow or establish the same government agency that US created, the FCC!
The Federal Communication Commission was created to prohibit foreign countries from taken control of their telecommunications avenues. I believe El Tiempo was also sold to Mexico.

I hope not,, because next will be the IRS and attention will be focused on who is RICH.

No JOKE,, 30 years ago some guy jumped off an overpass,, killed him but as luck would have it, he didn't fall on a passing car. One did run over him however.

Yep,, TAXES, Car Inspection, License plates all due on April 15th drove him over the edge.

well whats left to watch? CNN the Clinton News Network, they get most of their news wrong and lean very left. Then you have MSNBC the least watched cable channel of all with something like 11% of the market, they are all screwed up, im surprised they are even on the air with such a low rating. So whose left to watch in the 24 hour cable catagory? FOX thats who and they have a wide variety of opinions and they have both sides promoting their side, everyone gets a chance to speak...fair and balanced.

toneloc, dont be to worried soon we will have your guy (woman) Billery in office and then we'll all see how well she does.
lets see how she handles the economy, lets see what she does with taxes, lets see how she deals with the Iranians, lets see what kind of medical plan she sets up, lets see what she does when Russia and China start bullying her.
She cant even control her own husband for crying out loud whats she gonna do when China comes after us.Whats she gonna do when the economy takes a dump, whats she gonna do when the shit hits the fan? she has no experience at running anything, except for Obama she is the most under experienced person running from both parties.
If you think Bush is bad you aint seen nothing yet, hold on to your wallet and be ready for anything in 2009 we are in very dangerous times right now and the next president should be a very strong and wise person, not an intern training on the job.
Bush certainly isnt the brightest star in the sky but i dont see one democrat or as far as that goes even one republican that can help this country.good luck america you are gonna need it especially if the liberals take control.
