Miguel says on Jul 23, 2007, 09:23: Mexico City...around three times bigger than Bogotá. Like all big cities, it has it's good and bad points. Given a choice, I would live in Bogotá, but Mexico City has plenty to offer.

Miguel_Clavo says on Jul 23, 2007, 09:29: Mexico City itself is a dump.....like gobo says, very dirty.....like a bunch of ratones on crack...jajajaja.....it is on my list of places not to return....that would be the last city in Mexico i would want to work in , TJ being the next undesirable city, unless, of course, you like having sex with donkeys, burras, etc like Elmo....=) "I would rather die living life, than to live a dying life."........ msaucey says on Jul 23, 2007, 09:49: Ummmm... can't you telecommute from Bogota....? No seriously, like the 3 posts above.... Mexico City is extremely dirty.... and corrupt.... Be ready to be paying off the cops for pretty much anything.... But, seriously, I had a hard time breathing in Mexico City from the air pollution and my eyes were agitated at all times, there's also a funky smell in the city.... I believe that they've had a problem with the drainage system in the city, that's probably the reason for the smell, bad drainage... Of course, the touristic parts of the city are beautiful.... the ruins within walking distant from the plaze... the castle... you know the nice parts... Please don't insult Bogota.... There is NO comparison.... It's on my list of not to return... I got my fill the first time.... Other parts of Mexico are nice and beautiful... The last time I went, my friend told me not leave the hotel unless I was traveling with them. Keep in mind I am Mexican. Then again I think they exagerated, but I can see there concern.

houstongal says on Jul 23, 2007, 12:44: I was in Mexico City in February and definitely preferred Bogotá. Traffic was terrible (possibly worse than Bogotá?) and the smog was present and inescapable. But the food was good, although more expensive than comparable restaurants in Colombia. I couldn't get used to having lunch at 2 pm though. That's just too late in the day. Robert Jorge says on Jul 23, 2007, 22:04: Elmo, "best white sand beaches" ... Sorry, it ain't in Mexico or Brazil. Just take I 95 south to Jacksonville. Then, go west on I 10 for 4 hours. The place is called Destin. The sand isn't even sand. It is pulverized quartz crystals. It is so fine, it squeaks when you walk on it. Quite comparable to walking on fine salt. This time of year, the beaches are filled with southern white girls who are working on that Latin hue (tan). If you can get past the hillbilly accents, you should have no problem hooking up ... even as an injun. Yes, that's an invite. --"I believe in making the world safe for our children. bueno_pues says on Jul 23, 2007, 22:10: Woodybaum, no es la verdad. Es muy comun en Texas ver las parejas en donde la mujer es Latina y el hombre gringo o lo opuesto. Conozco mucha gente como esto. Es normal por que la mayoria de la gente en el estado son Latinos. Si los gringos no se casan con los latinos entonces con quien ellos van a casarlos?

scotty says on Jul 24, 2007, 04:00: I have a mexican american friend, he and his dad decided to have a small vacation in Mexico city. they said it was the worst vacation they ever had, they had three main complaints. The city had a nasty smell, it was just to big and crowded, and they unfortunetely rented a car and the traffic was so outrageously crazy they drove 3 blocks , turned around and took the rental car back. They said there was no way they were going to drive in that city. Get Rhythm, when you got the blues. Johnny Cash 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Dolfi says on Jul 24, 2007, 04:31: I´ve been to MC twice, last time was two years ago. It is a city that has a lot to offer, the Anthropological museum ist impressive, The house of Frida Kahlo is a beautiful place (and the surrounding Barrio of Coyoacan too), the place where Leo Trotzki lived and was killed in 1930 is very interesting, food can be very good and isn´t expensive. The people are generally friendly when you speak to them in spanish.
