We got Mexico - Colombia this weekend playing in the Gold Cup. I do come from a Mexican background being that my parents are Mexican. My girl is Colombian so we're looking forward to this game. I'm rooting for Mexico, and she of course for Colombia, but I don't hold anything against Colombia so if they win i root for them all the way. I say score is 2-1 in favor of Mexico. Please post your predictions. So I say let the best team win and good luck to both teams.

xochistar says on Jul 15, 2005, 17:40: a house divided This game has turned into my family's version of the superbowl. My dad is a soccer fanatic; my nieces and nephews all play soccer extremely competitively; my brothers and I lived and breathed soccer when we were kids. My dad is Colombian and my mother is Mexican and the personal and nationalistic competition has turned ugly. :) I personally plan to wear a Colombian jersey during the game while waving a Mexican flag in an attempt to steer clear of the divisiveness of the situation. :)

marcitos says on Jul 15, 2005, 19:11: Well ColombianoX I guess it is obvious that Univision knows what country has a better all around team. C before M? I think being ranked #6 in the world comes before being ranked #25, well I would think so. Nothing against Colombia though, but MEXICO! MEXICO! MEXICO! I say 3-1 Mexico. Don't be offended, this is all in good humor. marcos |

Gomezman5 says on Jul 16, 2005, 00:27: Too close to call! Honestly, even though Mexico is ranked higher, Colombia has been impressive of late and I don't think the standings are truely representative of Colombia's present state.

ColombianoX says on Jul 16, 2005, 14:43: So now Mexico is better than England or Germany? Ha ha ha ha ha!! Man, is that a good joke!! ColombianoX 'Defensor de la Colombianidad' |

marcitos says on Jul 16, 2005, 14:43: Even though Mexico is ranked #6, I think they are always over ranked. And yes Colombia has been progressing, but Mexico has too much going for them, excellent defense and a good offense. marcos |

marcitos says on Jul 16, 2005, 14:45: Hey man, I aint making this up. Why dont you submit something to FIFA? I'm pretty sure they know way more than you..... I get my info directly from the source, and not based on opinion. marcos |

ColombianoX says on Jul 16, 2005, 14:52: I know you're not making this up, Marcitos. It's the FIFA rankings that's a joke. ColombianoX 'Defensor de la Colombianidad' |

marcitos says on Jul 16, 2005, 15:04: That I can agree with. Like I said, Mexico is always over ranked. marcos |
