Melgar

Can anyone tell me where I go to get a bus to Melgar and how much it costs? I want to go next weekend (leaving Sat. morning and coming back Sun. night). Also, I imagine there's a wide range of hotels available, but how cheap are they? What about the Cafam grounds, how much is the cheapest room that you can get inside there for just a single/double room? Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

If your in Bogota, I would say the bus terminal is a good place to look price isn't too much I think around 18-20 mil, maybe.

The one's on CAFAM is a bit more expensive. The cheapest ones I know of are near the bus stations. I don't remember price.

If I remember right, probably around 100-150mil

Melgar Cheers for your reply. I'm looking at spending less than $20 a night for a hotel with a swimming pool. Is that possible or are the hotels much more expensive than that?

prices Dan, you got gringo-priced it sounds like.

You get a bus to Melgar from the bus terminal in Ciudad Salitre. It's a bit of a pain to get to as the Transmilenio doesnt go anywhere near there yet. You need to take a colectivo or a taxi there.

The cheap buses are 10k each way. The expensive ones are 12k. GO FOR THE EXPENSIVE ONES, you will not regret it. You want the Bolivariano, the best one you can get!
We stayed in a hotel with 2 big pools and water slides for 60k a night, but we didnt have a room with AC. GET A ROOM WITH AC! We also got a disount. The regular rates for double occupancy at this place were 80k with fan and 96k with AC. It was one block away from Cafam but we were already all swam out so we didn't go.

Well It's been a while since I went. Looking at your post I do remember that my wife paid 33mil for her, myself, and her daughter. The other stuff, I don't remember, it was Semana Santa and I was more interested in after the trip and I that I would be getting married.

God Bless America!
