Medical Prescriptions

I am a retiered person from the U.S. Due to some severe arthritis I was taking a medication called Vicodin, or morfine, or Oxycodin before I came to Colombia. I know I can use Dovir (which is very weak) as a relacement, but if I use my Federal benefits I can get the medicine for next to nothing. About $10-$15 USD for one month of meds.

Are there any rules or lwas against having meds sent to someone in Colombia. The Medical company tha I use will only ship to APO or FPO box location and the U.S. territories. But what if I have my daughtert send the prescription meds to me?

I'm not sure if it's legal or not but since most place don't ask to see the contents of a box, your daughter can actually ship them to you and not write down what the box actually contains. Your only issue would be whether you get them or not since some times mail delivery is not very reliable. But it all depends on the company you use for shipping.

Rikito, not sure of the legal aspects... I use TCC for sending mail and small packages... they ship out of Miami and they deliver to my door in Medellin.. 2-3 days usually....

Bill, for me the Colombian equivlanet for Vicodin is Dovir which is an OTC here, but it is expensive as compared to what I would pay through my medical insurance.

...and so it goes

Bro,

If it is medically prescribed there should be no problem. A perscription label on the pill bottle should be fine.

Riki-

i dunno about Colombia but if its anything like Mexico you can get 'prescriptions' much easier than in the states...

they are knock offs- generics, but they'll get the job done for what you need.

be careful with that stuff- they can be as bad for one as cocaine or heroin...

TCC in Miami is 305.499.9938 I usually talked to Erika Castro since her english is really good... But you can also talk to her boss Cecelia Sanchez....

That's a great shipping price--$10 for up to $2 lb door to door, guaranteed delivery. Its $5 cheaper then I pay for 1 lb (min)service.

they don't open the box? man, when I was living in buenos aires they always ripped it open in front of me and tried to get me to pay some kind of tax on it. I just used even worse spanish than usual ans mumbled "para uso personal" in a bad accent until they got fed up and let me go haha.
