to anyone reading about this post, is this more or less what an apartment of this size and area would go for? I'm killing myself to trying and figure out a way to live in medellin one day, and my crappy canadian apartment cost almost twice this much for much less. I thought Poblado prices would probably be through the roof and much more reflecting of like canadian or us prices.

That being said, if this kinda of place is only (listen to me calling 100,000$ only lol) $98,000 then I guess it'd probably be pretty damn cheap to get something in a slightly lesser neighborhood, that you could really make your own with the extra cash, or just find something even bigger. Any real estate experts out there, what's the mark up for just Poblado, ballpark, if that makes any sense?

Also, can foreigners easily get a mortgage in colombia (do they even exist) or would you be expected to bring one from your home country?

I have a 3 bedroom and 2 bathroom on the 8th floor in Poblado. It is large with swimming pool and weight room and hot tub for $1,200,000.00 pesos per month. That is one reason I moved to Medellin. Money seem to go a bit farther there and the people are worth being around. You will love it there

I figure, it is hard to finance for a foreigners, so is better to give a good deal, but cash. I see the same price for just one bedroom at craigslist.

The apt rents from $600.00 to $700.00 per month. Rent pays the mortgage, and fees.

It won`t be available until May 1st 2010. (it is rented)

I have a friend in Miami that is Colombian and knew someone and I got it from her. It is a great price and I am very happy with it. Very secure and it over looks the valley. Great view and clean air
