Medellin Trip in June

Hello All,
I am going to Medellin in late June for about 6-7 weeks, and am still looking for an apartment, either in the laureles or estadio areas... Location isn`t such an issue,as long as it is secure.. Anyone know of anything? Also, when I return,I will be flying with that wonderful airline which we have all come to know & love,Avianca.. That means I have to connect in Cali to return to Miami... My question is,are they still cutting bags in the Cali airport? I do think that my luggage will be checked through to Miami,so maybe this shouldn`t be a concern after all.... Any help would be greatly appreciated...

heh, papasito... there's a chap on line here, i think his name on PBH is 'spigrimace' (i think the spelling is correct) he's either english or american, well he, i believe, has some sort of business in the estadio area and could probably give you some accurate, up to date (realtime) info on the issue and the area. you might try pm ing him.

best area over on the west side.

good luck

Furnished Apartment in Laureles Papi - I used to live in a four bedroom furnished apartment in Laureles for about $450 / month, with secured parking, close to two grocery stores. It was on the corner of San Juan (calle 44) and carrera 78th. It might be a little big for you, depending on who you're planning on living with, but I'd be happy to look into it for you and see if it will be available in June, if you'd like.

A problem you're going to run into is finding a furnished apartment, and finding a manager who will let you rent monthly. A good source with apartment listings is El Colombiano. The university EAFIT also has information in their foreign language department about shared apartments. www.eafit.edu.co/ Enjoy the feria!
