thanks morphus; I was getting ready to bitch about half The picture being cut away.
What is it, I see upstream? Looks like someone parked their car in the river.

Colombia; It's no Disneyland.
It's.... THE MAD HATTER!

Why Colombianitas? Personally... I just don't like pink areolar tissue.

Beautiful countryside Morphus. It reminds me of the rivers around Villavo. During festivos, the rivers outside of Villavo fill up with families swimming and cooking out.

The parked cars by the river are a common sight.
Many Colombians that live inland treat a trip to the river the same way some might treat a trip to the beach.
It gets hot in Colombia and for someone that lives inland going to the coast is just not feasible on short notice.....no problem just rustle up a nice sancocho gather the family round pak the pokers and una caneca and you're good to go....a nice day out in the river!

Hey Quindioman, is this what your talking about?

I miss doing that kind of stuff. Pack 12 or 15 members of the family in 2 taxis and 1 moto, and go the river for a day.

Augh... ... I really don't know why every time we go to the river my family has to make sancocho de leña. I really don't like sancocho and that is all they want to cook. Augh. How about some ribs or steak for a change, USA style. =D

El Feliz, I don't know the name of the river. Villavo has a few. The biggy is the river Meta. I asked my wife, and she hasn't a clue which river it is.

I guess my wife's family usually takes the easy way out. Most of the times we went to the river, we would buy a bunch of broaster chicken to take with us. I know sancocho is typical food for the river. I saw people take live chickens in a burlap sack to the river and kill and cook them there on the spot. That's a lot of work ... but it is good eatin'.
