Indio Comido is great fast food, its like a block and half away from folia on la 10 on the left side.... and Mondongos which in across from folia is also good.

Yes dw it's my favorite place to go and have a cold one and meet up with friends while I'm in Medellin. My attorney first introduced to the place, she's been going there for many years.

Mono: The sushi at "Sushi To Go" is okay, not great, and to me it's fairly pricey but if you want sushi in Lleras that's where most people go.

The sushi is good, i have had better in Miami, and San Francisco but i would give this place 3.5 out of 5 stars. BUt if you only know sushi in Colombia i would give it a 4 out of 5.

and, as you undoubtedly know. "five star" ratings are hawked around when places are no more five star than a rest room. to be five star by michelin is really something.

ditto, peter. all those pricey places can't even produce decent fare. go up the hill along las palmas, there are countless estaderos that produce excellent food. many are totally colombian. and the places in llaeras hark like they have international cuisine...well , the jury's still out on that. and if you can't produce italian, french, american or japanese food. give it up. just go back to colombian lomo and some potatoes and a good salad. that's not too difficult.

there used to be a fantastic italian family with an italian restaurant on cl 9 in poblado, above oriental. even in the 80's it was pricey. but it was fantastic. i guess like all the great old places in poblado, it went the way of the whale. there was a nice restaurant in barrio manila (poblado viejo) below oriental across from the natl police. a good bakery and a tomale maker were also residents in that area.

Sushi Light is good and u can walk from Lleres. Its on ave poblado upstairs at where portafino Casino is. If you also walk down from p lleres, past Park Poblado there is new(ish) sushi restaurant thats reported to be good.

Next to Thaico in the vacant lot Royal Real Estate agent is building a boutique hotel. They had the launch a few weeks ago; it is mentioned in the small free paper that is everywhere in Med (ie supermarkets). Migt be an ok investment - they are selling rooms in the hotel.

The new sushi place just down from the Scottish bar also has 3 for one cocktails.

God Lleras and Poblado aren't the only thing to see in Medellin. Have you ever been to la 70?. Many many nice restaurants, excellent food and nowhere near as pricey as Poblado. What about Bello, say Girardota has many good "estaderos". Apart from that to me the best restaurants are in Oriente Antioqueño, aah, of course I like above all Colombian food.

dan...go back down to the central park in front of the church, across oriental and the street on the south side i think it cl 11, walk down a couple of blocks towards exito and there's a great restaurant there, on the left. it's owned by the son of my ex land lord. (ask at the door if it's the restaurant of el hijo de alvaro vasco) nice ambience and good food. for me, i like going up the hill to the estaderos and eating there. there's probably some good estadero like places in sabaneta. too bad 'hunter' doesn't post anymore (you might pm him and ask for good eats in sabaneta) he probabaly knows the place better than anyone.
