Medellin? or, Mexico?

Merely interesting, perhaps for some of those who may not yet have been to Colombia:

I remember my first trip to Cali a year ago, and I continuously kidded my girlfriend from Pasto about: "no beber el agua". Merely a joke, however. I drank the water, slowly at first. No problems, ever.'

Two of my good friends went to Mexico, not so far away from Cancun I think, this last week, while I went to Medellin. Their report: Montezumas revenge? Diarhea. Lots of discomfort. My report: Drank the water/ate the food (too much!) but still returned about 4 pounds lighter,...but from more enjoyable,... :) and natural causes. no problemas. Mexico? F*ck No!

I am going to write a long post about this visit to Medellin, later this weekend. I am impressed! This is ONE INCREDIBLE CITY IN THE MAKING! Why do I say 'in the making'? Because everything, it seems is either under construction or,...'RECONSTRUCTION'. I would commment, that: Give this city about 5 years... and it is going to be one of the favorite world destinations.

Water in Medellin For those who may be curious about this subject, Medellin has the BEST WATER QUALITY ALL OVER SOUTH AMERICA.

The local public utilities company is the best in Colombia. It offers the best water quality in the country and Medellin has the highest electricity, gas, telephone and water coverage in all of Colombia.

RingoD, I had a Mexicana novia for a while and even she would only drink bottled water in Mexico. So what does that tell you about Mexican water?

Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult.

But you also must realize that MOST places in the world don't consider tap water potable. Colombia is way ahead of the curve on municipal water quality, except in places like Cartagena, where it'll kill you.

But Mexicans will look at you as if you're crazy when you drink the tap water there because it's NOT for drinking, except in a few parts of the country.
