Medellin Hotels?

Anybody have any info on decent but not too expensive hotels in Medellin? A safe neighborhood with good service etc...

We have been booking people in the Nutibara Hotel, Calle 52a 50-46, Medellin. Tel: 57-4-5115111, paying 97,400 per person per night. We like to give our clients a decent hotel but whilst this hotel is quite nice I don't think it is particularly good value, if there was a nice friednly hotel a little bit cheaper it would be convenient. It would also be good if they would give us a better rate but because we generally only use it for one night they are not too keen to negotiate.

That price for Nutibara seems good. I paid over 100K at Hotel Botero Plaza about a half block away over a year ago. While I didn't see the rooms at the Nutibara, I believe that it is a nicer place.

However, the neighborhood is not safe.

I paid around 100K at the Hotel Lukas on la Setenta in Laureles in Jan. That is a safe area.

why don't you say what you are lookin for, instead of 'not too expensive'. That phrase seems to mean different things to different folks.

And, the website for the Nutibara looks like it is pretty nice place.

Why Colombianitas? Personally... I just don't like pink areolar tissue.

Oh, really? Thanks for the warning. Although I really wasn't thinking of staying there.

I will return to the PARK 10 HOTEL... if and when I return to Medellin.

Why Colombianitas? Personally... I just don't like pink areolar tissue.

I stayed at the Gran Hotel once, and it was okay... I mean, if you're used to staying at the Ritz, ain't nothing gonna satisfy you.... Also stayed at the Intercontinental but it wasn't all that, especially for the price. The room at the Gran Hotel was much bigger, the Nutibara wasn't that bad.. the breakfast buffet was good.. LOL I like to eat.... so any buffet is good... except for the all you can eat Chinese buffets..... those I stay away from......
