Medellin Hotel (Not Hostal) Recomendations

Holiday Inn Express -- Right on El Poblado Avenue in a luxurious shopping/dining complex.Spectacular views, all suites, free internet. Approximately $60US/night --but you MUST CALL THE HOTEL DIRECTLY IN MEDELLIN for this rate. Over the internet, it's twice as much.

Novelty Suites Hotel --very similar to above.

When I was there last month they government/tourismo section was given tax free if you show your American passport. I do not know if this is still going on! FYI
I stayed at Park 10 before I learned about La Casa Medellin, I will give that a try this time however, I don't think either are in your budget!

Yes, 70 USD per night seems low for San Fernando Plaza. As 60 USD seemed low for Holiday Inn.

It is a couple of blocks from Oviedo and should be like 40 per night, if you ask for a discount.

I stayed at Park 10 for 1 week. Hotel was nice. We had breakfast every morning at the ground level cafe / restaurant. Very good staff.
