Medellin during Christmas

Thanks in advance.

I will be going to Medellin during Christmas and New Years. Was curious if there are any fiestas, fierras, carnivals or anyting in particular I should see. I have been to Cali during Christmas and it was great, but would like to see another city this year. Any recommendations where to go?

I will be flying in from Bogota. Is Avaincia the only option?

I will be there as well... You might try Aerorepublica,or Satena for flights.. There is also West Carribean, but they don`t have the best reputation as far as safety is concerned...

the lights the lights while in medellin for christmas you must set aside at least one evening to stroll the parks along the river over which the city decorates with lights for miles. it's spectacular! on the night of dec. 8th...go into some of the middle class neighborhoods like laurels and belen to see the 'velas' and eat buneulos!

Bienvenido a la navidad paisa Look for "El desfile de mitos y leyendas". It's a parade about urban legends an popular folklore characters. It's on Dec 7 night, downtown. But I don't know where exactly are they going to make it this year.

The riverside walk (paseo del rio) is a must see. If you get some good company, go to Envigado and Sabaneta.

Thanks Darn, I do not get into Medellin until the 24 of December. Anything between then and New Years?

Thank you all for your quick replies.

Oh Well, you'll only miss that parade then.

But then again, it's just a matter of turning around the corner and you'll find all sorts of fun stuff going on. There'll be a ton of things to do, but maybe at a small scale so it's impossible to know right now the what where. If you are coming with some more people, or better yet if you know some locals of your trust you'll have the time of your life here.
