what type of music do you like? will you dance or just hang out by the bar? do you want local girls or simply the infamous prepagos in mangos?

the so called 'best', in my opinion, are the worst. and many of the 'worst' are really great. a lot depends what your interests are...music, getting laid, hanging out, meeting people, meeting people that are worth meeting, eating, dancing. be a tad more specific. know lots of places and many that are frequented by the passers through, are suck city to me. as i go back a good spell when there were only 'colombian' clubs around. and if you're around poblado, 'colombian' clubs are like hen's teeth...hard found.

if you're around lleras, go to la casa de los cinco puertos.....it is the ONLY old place in all of poblado/lleras. goes back over 50 years. you'll meet locals who aren't on the scam or take or full of 'fuck-you' posturing. it's a bout 2 blocks west of the body shop.

Yes, it helps if you narrow it down a bit. What kind of music? Atmosphere? etc...

Poor but snappy

last night I was at Delux (previously named Deja Vu) and Pharmacy.

Great times at both. Hip-hop/dancehall/reggaeton music.

They said I couldn't play football I was too small / They say I couldn't play basketball I wasn't tall / They say I couldn't play baseball at all / And now everyday of my life I ball.

Also, I was at Wild in Itagui on Saturday. It's an after hours club that starts to pick up around 3:30AM and goes till 9AM.

wild is fun but be careful its a hot spot.

certainly if you want late hours wild, carnival, and la clarita are very good.

Yea Wild is definitely a hot spot. You can get whatever you want from any of the waiters to "enjoy" the electronica music.

Again last night at Pharmacy cops came in around 3AM and checked all the patrons for guns/drugs. Party died out after that....

Carnival and La Clarita are both cool spots too. I hit up Carnival on Fri night, but I was beat and bailed at 430am.

If you are looking for a nice lounge, I recommend Tropical Lounge at Palmitas in Las Palmas on Av. Las Palmas. I was there last night with some friends for drinks and it was a nice chill-out spot, beautiful views (get there an hour before sunset and hang out for a few hours!).

Another 'muy chevre' spot that is new is Cartagena, a lounge/club I believe right in Poblado. I've driven by a few times and it looks really nice - I'll check it out later this week and let you know how it goes.

rhyde...most places along las palmas are better and more laid back than down the hill, too, there's rarely a shakedown for guns and drugs in las palmas.

i remember, years ago in centro commercio monteray, lower poblado, there used to be a disco on the top floor. they'ld shake you down, do the magnetometor wand on you and if you had a piece, they'ld put it in a basket--if you wanted to come in--you could pick it up on your way out. they sure packed a lot of heat, those young guys. this was around '91.
