Wrong again Medo... she is reading "Amando a Pablo" by Virginia Vallejo in a rare copy with an original Pablo's autograph by Medellin Traveler himself.

Wrong, I do not read trash!

But, my book was signed by don Pablo himself.

"One interesting book highlighted in the story is one that Escobar self-published while in ‘prison.’ (If only I had known before I could have included it in my self-publishing post.) Pablo Escobar Gaviria en Caricaturas, 1983-1991 is a leather bound book of hundreds of cartoons and photographs of Escobar that had been published in various newspapers since 1983. 500 copies were printed and given to friends and family. A small pile of these books was found by his bed after he escaped from ‘La Catedral.’ One is up for sale for around $60,000 US dollars but the family of Escobar is contesting the sale on the grounds that it is stolen property."

Estoy equivocada?.

Well, not really mine, but on consignment.

As soon as the dueling Pablo Escobar movies come out in US theatres, it goes up for sale on Ebay.

This is not stolen property, as it was given to my amigo as a gift.

Also, you are pretty brave on the internet, I'll give you that.

tejasmarcos says, "nice thinkin, mt. touche!

I jumped in the front seat of a taxi in Medellin and started chatting with the driver, told him I was American, and one thing led to another, next thing you know, the book falls into my lap.

The owner refered to the book as his lottery ticket for retirement.

Afterwards, we worked out an agreetment. I told him if all works out, he'll make out like a bandit. I don't know why, but that guy trusted me, or had no one else to turn to until I jumped in his cab that day.

Medellin Traveler says on Feb 12, 2008, 20:37:

I'm selling it for him, with a very small commision. He is very happy.

I wouldn't know where to begin authorizing something liike that, but it sure as heck looks authentic, plus his stories are worth the price of the ticket.

He's had this book stashed forever.

Funny story, I had him drop me off at the airport for my departure. He called me the night before and asked if it was okay if he picked up another passanger, said it would split the cost of the fare. Okay, I thought. Then I got freakin' nervous!

He picks me up at my hotel. I'm checking everything out. He tosses my luggage in the trunkc off we go to pick up the other guy. We pull up at an apartment building, a young man in a business suit walks up and jumps in the back seat. We take off.

On the way to the airport, the guy in the back seat and I start talking, he asks me where I'm from, tell him Chicago. He smiles, says, "I love Lake Shore Drive." I look at him and asked him if he's ever been in Chicago, It turns out he studied at DePaul University and lived by the lake for five years. He went on about all the great restaurants and commented that Lake Shore Drive is one of the most beautiful drives in the world, he traveled everywhere.

We get to the airport. And everything is good.

The taxista and the young business man are very good friends. I boarded my plane to Chicago, the other guy to Bogota. I've still keep in touch with him.

I was freakin' out there for a minute.

We'll have to wait to see how this story turns out... sale or no sale. I

'm rooting for Joe Carnahan's "Killing Pablo" movie over Oliver Stone's produced version.

Medoblado - Villavicencio is my guess for the girl in the picture. Perhaps Bucaramanga.

Webmanco - "La Gaitana" is a scary statue. That baby looks like a miniature "Mo Howard" from the 3 stooges. What a nightmare!
