Meanwhile there are damn criminals, child molesters, rapist running around here illegally and legally...yet they are still here!
Are your parents here?
I wish the gov't would change their laws in regards to kids who have been here their entire lives and are productive to this country like yourself!
I can't believe they deny you legal status..Are your parents citizens? Or do you have a sibling who is a citizen?

My heart goes out to you. Why don't you just move to another state? Marry someone?
I am so sorry...
I wish you the best.

Deathnova I have seen times where that wasn't the case, although these were several years ago, perhaps it has changed. I had a friend deported to England, so he sold everything in the US, his two businesses, his cars, a house and a rental property, moved back to England. A few months later the attorney contacted him and explained that there was a change and that he could return. He never returned, but apparently he could have.

There are so many Brits who are told that if they invest X amount in a business they can reside in the US, and for one reason or another many get deported. So many that my friend has a business purchasing the contents of their houses.

Hey Paisa. I was just going to compliment you on your bike. I have an '06 Gixxer mil.

Unfortunately, the bike has to stay. Now, before all Hell breaks loose, there are ways to get the bike to Colombia. A person can take a vehicle to Colombia temporarily on a tourist stamp entry. The process is expensive with lots of red tape. Then, the bike has to leave with the person when the person's tourist stay is over. In your case, you would obviously be entering without being a tourist. Use the Google search function on this site - there are lots of threads discussing the importation of vehicles into Colombia. But the rule is no used vehicle can be imported into Colombia. A new one can, but the duty (tax) is ridiculous. Since you are in Miami, go down to the port area and ask around. Spend a day talking to shippers that deal with Colombia. They can explain everything and maybe figure out a way to get your Gixxer down there. And if you figure out a way, let us know. Good luck.

Before I start crying for you like MOST everybody else here, I have to have a lot of answers to a lot of questions.

1. How did you get into the United States from Colombia at age 12? Did you swim from Cartagena or did you walk through Central American and Mexico?

2. You and your mother and or father also brought you here right? What kind of visa did he or she have and did your parent (s) VIOLATE the terms of that visa? Did that Visa have a said date of EXPIRATION and did they not honor that date on said visa in question?

It is sad indeed that if your parents violated a visa that you have to get stuck in the middle with the ICE and your mother's problem. However, the ICE has no other recourse but to deport you in my opinion.

We have laws in this country folks. Unfortunately, enforcing immigration laws has not been a priority since 1988. Then, we get a fellow who lives here like everybody else then one day gets told to leave. Why now? When your parents brought you at age twelve, by age 13 or 14, you should have been admitted for good or deported BACK THEN and not now.

If your mother was shot and is being allowed to stay but not as a political victim then why is being allowed to stay? I don't understand that either?

My advice to most of you above is to stop and think logically. The ILLEGAL community and self appointed never elected to anything Hispanic groups want every immigrant to be given amnesty. Then, they can all bring in more relatives. Basically, then, you have no immigration laws and open borders. OK let us have open borders. When do I get a $75,000 job in Colombia with benefits? Gee, I guess I will have to teach English like everybody else.

Paisa, I am sorry you are caught up in this mess. However, if we erode the law down to nothing then why have the law? This is why the US government needs to start enforcing the law. If you come here legally then fine! If not then, then go home and the government needs to do that NOW and not let people wait 11 years like this person!

I will continue. You said you came on a plane. Obviously most Colombians do. So, you are saying that you and your mother were given 10 year visas to enter the United States and these were NOT resident alien visas? Were these tourist visas because you said your mom was denied political visas? I am totally confused.

Your mother's sister claaimed her? I am confused on that as well. Since when can a sister citizen sponser a sister to come or stay in the United States? Maybe I am wrong since I admit I am not an immigration attorney.

The government is NOT wrong in deporting so many the problem are these time delays. Then again, why are illegal immigrants in our schools? Why are the children of pregnant Mexican women who give birth in AZ given citizenship? These costs are killing the taxpayer and we citizens get reduced to second class status.

Want to come to America? Get in line and if you violate the terms of the visa and get deported then to bad. We have to follow Colombian law to be a tourist, work live and so it should be inn the USA. Too bad the government will not enforce the law.

PAISA710 My diatribe is not going to matter to you is it? If I was you I would just stay here illegally and wait for McCain or Obama to give you an amnesty. We have 12 to 30 million here just waiting for it. I don't like it but what can I do about it.

Again, we have so many ILLEGALS where I live and they get education for their kids and jobs and food stamps and health care and can buy cars and yes, even houses and an American in this forum can go to Colombia and maybe teach English! LOL

Nobody said life was fair did they? Just stay PAISA710 and and do not get into trouble with the law!

Sounds like Paisa710 kept asking for Extensions until they ran out and then he(or his mom) received a final order of deportation. I believe this infraction will get you at least a 10 year exclusion for even applying for another US Tourist Visa. Once your record is flagged for any infraction and you end up being deported, the applicant will in all probability, be denied another Visa the rest of his/her life. BTW, GW Bush(along with McCain&ted Kennedy) was the Person who pushed for Amnesty and legalizing 12 Million Illegals. Another under-publicized fact--McCain helped to draft now Deceased Prez Reagan's 1987 Failed IRCA Amnesty which granted Amnesty to 2 million illegals. This Amnesty was then stated as a "One Time Deal" by Reagan so why was it then brought up again in 2007? If it comes up again in 2009 after we get a new Prez, it will go down to defeat again as surely as it did in 2007(twice defeated),,,

Paisa--one place you do NOT want to end up in is my old Workplace, the Infamous Federal Krome Detention Center on Krome Avenue just 1 mile south of the Micosukee Gaming casino. If they offer you a Voluntary deportation, adhere to it and avoid detention in Krome. You will not enjoy this place. Trust me on this...

A tourist Visa is only good for 6 months, and you have to leave the US within that time.
If you are a permanent resident you just have to re-new every ten years, and you could get deported if you commit any crimes in the US.
Im sorry about you deportation, but you came to the US when you were twelve, and you had plenty of time to adjust you status. Given that your mom has politycal assylum, and looks like they could had afford an immigration lawyer along time ago. Immigration laws are not fair, but why do people always wait into the last minute to try to fix what they could had done along time ago. You should be able to get a job teaching English in Colombia, and trust me Colombia is a real nice place. You family in the states would most likely be able to help you out until you get on your feet.

Sandressi:

even though he came in on a tourist visa, his mom applied for political asylum.. they get a right to stay while the application is in process in a sort of limbo state (not as a tourist, not as a permanent resident, but as a person who has paperwork in the process and is waiting for an adjudication).. this got denied 10 years later, so NOW he has no legal basis to remain in the US..

sorry, paisa :(

I think reputable lawyers will give you a few minutes of free time to explain your situation and then tell you if you have a reasonable chance of success. I'd try this route if you haven't already done so.

As for writing letters to members of Congress, they are typically in recess between the first week of August and the first week of September, so you'll need to hurry if you hope to get their attention.

It's bittersweet: people apply for political asylum but happily go back on vacations...

Here's a thought. Have a friend tow you out to sea on a raft made out of old tires, then float ashore and pretend to be a Cuban.

Hmm... If you need more time to address the legal issues see if you can get a Visa for Canada and visit Canada for a month? If your family can help you pay for a stay in Canada you at least will be nearby if you can get some type of intervention. Plus Canada is very nice, one of my brothers just visited Quebec with his girlfriend who is Haitian/American and has relatives in Canada. Otherwise, ni modo...

And there are a lot of Mexicanos I know who just keep crossing the border... They get deported, they cross a few weeks later... they get caught crossing, they cross again (not very safe to do in the desert, but they pay bribes to the border patrol agents via Coyotes and get across safely... PINCHE MIGRA!)
