Marriage in Colombia - Embassy issues

Hi! First post here but this website rocks as it is just what i needed.
I am marrying my fiancee in Bogota and shortly afterwards I`m going to the UK embassy with her to apply for the 2 year marital visa to come back to the UK.
My friend is married to her sister - also a colombian and they told me there might be some hard hitting questions in the embassy. Any one have any idea what these might be - just so I can prepare!

Thanks!

Hi Steve
I did the opposite - ie married a Colombian in the UK and applied for a Colombian Spouses Visa at the Colombian Consulado in London. I'd have thought that the requirements would be similar, but who knows?
You'll need to register your marriage at the British Consulate first, which means that they take your Colombian Marriage certificate and replace it with a British one. There's an application form to complete and you'll need photocopies of your and your wife's passports/cedulas etc. The British Consulate website should explain exactly what's needed.
I was basically asked things about where I would be living, what income I would have, why I wanted to go to Colombia, how long I intended to stay, how long I'd been married, how and where we'd met, etc. Nothing too searching.
Hope this helps.

Hola a todos! I am a Brit very happily married to a Colombian lady since 1997. We married in Bogota when I was working there and since then we've used our Colombian marriage licence for all bureacracy issues (I've been posted to other countries -- am currently in Spain -- with my work). Does anyone know if it would be possible for us to get a British marriage licence? The Colombian one works but it's cumbersome to keep getting the Hague Convention stamps to validate it here in Europe. Thanks!
