Marriage and Visa for my wife coming to the UK england

Me and my colombian girlfriend have decided to marry as we are very much in love. I live in England, United Kingdom, where is the best place for us to marry? Is it difficult to marry in colombia as i have been married before in the uk, also would it make her visa aplication easier if we marry, As anyones wife got a visa from colombia to live here in the Uk, what is the process and is it difficult, how long does it take to process, what about if here english is very poor? Many factors here and i really need some advice, thanks in advance

My best advice is to find an immigration lawyer in the UK and get a firm grasp of the legalities. I'm not sure, but I think it is not best to marry first, then try to bring her to the UK.

UK visa I got marryed in Cali two years ago, and my wife is here in the uk now.Being marryed before was not a problem, if you get marryed in a reg office and have all docs translated to spanish. Getting marryied in Cali was the best thing I have ever done. The visa was a trip to Bog and a wait at the embassey for interview and filing papers yes or no same day.If you want my phone number in UK let me know and Ill give it to you.

Take a look at the fiancee option (k1) also It may work a little faster in some cases. Try the forums and check the timelines on Visa Journey also http://www.visajourney.com/ My rough estimate is that either process takes 6 months (plus minus a few months.) So, depending on your situation and choices you two make, either one is not too bad (but its not very quick!)
Good luck

UK VISA & BANK STATEMENTS Chelseaboy, my finance and I will be getting married in Colombia in September this year and would hope to get his visa and return to the UK after the wedding. Could you let me know how straightforward the visa application and process were. Do you know how much money/funds would they need to see on my bank statement to be considered as 'sufficient' to maintain my partner for 6 months before he is able to work legally? Grateful for any details you could provide.

Yonky as far as I know (sister and brother in law have been through this) the foreign national on a spousal visa can immediately start working legally as soon as they get their national insurance number. That is what happened to my brother in law. It did take some time but not 6 months to get a NI number. There was no employment restrictions, the only restriction placed on his visa was the ban on acessing public funds ie. job seekers allowance.

Dude my wife is Colombian. I`m a US citizen. We have been married for almost five years. Last year my wife had to travel to Colombia due to a death in the family.
while her legal status was in the process. I hired an attorney for legal purposes. He informed that is a lot faster when you get married in the country where the beneficiery is from. In this case in Colombia. However we had been married in the States, and now we had to request a waiver. But everything seems to be going OK so far. It´s just very time consuming. GOOD LUCK

That is good news that he should be able to work sooner than 6 months. I just hope that when they look at my 6 months bank statements during the visa process that they will say I have enough money to support him - this is the main thing I am worried about.
