Been to the San Luis. Rooms are not much to speak of. Pools are decent. Food is OK. You have to make reservations ahead of time for dinner at one of the restaurants. Or else it's the cattle feed at the buffet's.. It is all inclusive, so you can make reservations at the different Decamerons on the island. I think they have at least 5. Not sure. You can go swimming/relaxing at any of them with the bracelet they give you. There is a decent beach across the street from the San Luis. It's probably 4-5 miles outside of town. Rental cars are expensive. Maybe a motor scotter would be OK. Except for the frequent Thunder storms. Enjoy & LOL.

What do you call a Fat Dog in a Pool? A Tidal Wave !! Ha!

Been to both; they are both part of the Decameron chain. San Luis is more "popular", while Mar Azul is slightly more upscale. The other Decameron hotels on San Andres are: Aquarium, El Isleno (currently closed for accomodations due to renovations, but activities are still available), Los Delfines, Marazul, Maryland, and San Luis. I have found that the prices for rooms at the San Luis are more economical, but I prefer Marazul. Like Buongone said, you can enojy the amenities of all the Decamerons on the island with the bracelet that you are given on the day of your arrival. If accomodations are very important, then stay at the more upscale Marazul, but then again, how much time will you actually spend in your room on your vacation? Both are kinda far from San Andres shopping and nightlife, but you will have fun at whatever Decameron you decide to stay. San Andres is beautiful!!!!

If you want to eat excellent fresh sea food go to "Donde Franchesca" over there in San Luis.

La vida sera' contigo tan justa como lo eres con los dema's.
