I looked everywhere imaginable and can't find maple syrup anywhere in Bogota.
I'm not talking about corn syrup falsely labeled maple, which is everywhere, but real maple syrup.
Anyone know where I can find some of this delicious treat?

Mononoke28 says on Jan 15, 2009, 08:26: Uhmm... can you try to find maple flavored extract or vanilla extract? If you can find either one try making it like this, it won't be as thick as you're used to but it's a great substitute, trust me. Diana 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Bill Turley (Moderator) says on Jan 15, 2009, 11:42: I see that there are very few real people here who grew up in Sugaring country. I have sugared down many times. There is NO comparison between Aunt Jemima and the real thing. The price most of all. Real Grade A used to cost about $75 USD a gal. Mr. Bill Somondoco 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
