What's the Inca Trail like?
Does it rain much in mid-April (Semana Santa week)?
Did you stay in hotels? Hostels? Tents?
Do you recommend any agencies or guides?
If we stay the night of the 7th in Lima, get to Cusco on the morning of the 8th and return to Lima on the 14th and finally back to Colombia on the 15th, do we have enough time to do everything?
Anything cool to do, places to stay or visit, restaurants in Lima, Cusco or the Inca Trail that stand out?
I haven't heard too many great things about Lima, it will be my first time in Peru.

dilate says on Mar 1, 2006, 17:33: I didn't do the Inca trail, but took the train from Cuzco. We kind of did our own thing, not through a travel agency, just got train tickets and stayed at a cheap little hostel, of which there are dozens, at Aguas Calientes. Both Aguas and Cuzco are highly touristified (at least in the centro); if you venture farther from the main square, things like restaurants are cheaper.

bickerss says on Mar 2, 2006, 11:48: You can do a 2 day tour, the train ride the same day, or a 4 days tour. You wilñl need at least 2 days in cusco to get used to the altitide. Cusco is one of the best cities I have been to and is great for a longer stay.
