Lucio Espana (footballer) killed

Former Atletico Nacional player Lucio Espana has been shot dead in Colombia.

The 33-year-old, who helped Atletico win the national championship in 1999, was gunned down by two men who were reportedly trying to rob him.

His death is the latest in a line of shooting incidents involving footballers in the country.

Former national team striker Albeiro Usuriaga was killed in Cali in February 2003, and his team-mates Andres Escobar and Felipe Perez were also gunned down.
