I do not doubt Cali is a very violent city, but any more than Medellin?

Also, in Medellin Centro I see 10 year old glue sniffers day and night, a truly saddening sight. In Cali Centro I dont see this, is it down by the river more or just elsewhere, or some other reason? Cali Centro at night is much quieter (numbers of people on the street) than Medellin Centro.

Yes in my opinion, yes!!!! Much More IMHO.. even though MDE has seen a recent surge of violence and is deteriorating at a slower pace, its still not as dangerous as Cali is..

Thanks PCL.

But from whom and why? And what is the difference that is less in Medellin? More poverty in Cali? More gang history? Location???

Depends on how many sex and drug tourists there were in the 17.

Yes, again in my opinion, you can see that Cali is far from as polished as MDE is, no real public transportation(mio sucks) you will probably see much more poverty, much more dirty, and I dont have an article but a much higher unemployment rate.. You can see it with your own eyes.. Cali is much more rough around the edges.. Even the estrato 1's and 2's seem to be more rustic in Cali..

Yes greg, do you see all the traffic in Cali especially on the Pasoancho, Autopista and la Quinta? Cali is a Traffic nightmare. Medellin had a public transportation that runs from All the way in the South to all the way to the North that is heavily used by 100'000's of thousands of people daily.. NOW, Can you imagine how many more buses, cars, motos, pollution and traffic Medellin would be adding on the road if there wasnt a public transportation system option like the metro rail? Convenience, safety, economical all come into play. Use you head Greg!.. Imagine a nice Metro in Cali (Yumbo to Jamundi) and what it would do for the infrastructure of Cali How much traffic it would clear up? Jeez!!!

Staying in hotels in both.

Odeon for 25,000 in Medallo.
Astral for 40,000 in Cali.

Cali Centro at night is much quieter. Homeless people, street cleaners and the odd 8 car motor cavalcade, very out of place!
