"goosebumps" (eso, eso,eso. . . sorry). . .

Quien sabe sumercé. . . no he conocido al primer norcoreano.

I commented on the film (Love in the) in another post a few days ago. I said it was worth seeing. My opinion - not an 8 or 9 - but probably a 5 or 6. Done with a very good sense of humor, a little bit of Colombian history and beautiful scenery. Plus, lots of boobies.

About 4 or 5 different actresses. The dude beds 422 by the end of the flick. I was highly offended when they showed the original novia's boobs when she was 70 years old though. (that's a joke for those sin sentido del humor) - sorry for the possible terrible spelling

*they did show them earlier when the doctor examined her - much better.

if you read what has been said on the internet movie trailor..... there are some people that give the movie good ratings.

I havent seen the movie yet but i did see a documentary they had about it on HBO. I guess it was filmed in Cartegena, the movie producers were going to film it in Brazil but the vice president of Colombia called him up and told him "sir you have got to film this movie in Colombia", the producer decided to film it in Cartegena. Also Shakira wrote two songs especially for the movie.

RJ, I agree with you.
But I did not go expecting to see the greatest movie of the year, I was just thrilled with Love in Time of Cholera for many reasons. (I would elaborate in the future)
I recognized many familiar faces from "Cafe con Aroma de Mujer" and from other popular Colombian productions. Mi piaci la italiana, she just needed a little tan.

Monpirri says on Nov 27, 2007, 07:11:

I liked it because I did not go to movie theater thinking I was going to enjoy the greatest of greatest movies of the year.
I liked it because it was an interesting story written by Gabriel Garcia Marquez that happened in Macondo and the British producer did a great job in putting the novel into film, I liked it because I saw lots of great actors and actresses working together in the film in COLOMBIA and not any other places where the movies have been filmed in the past and the production team claimed or tried to mislead the audience with fake Colombian images.
I also liked Love in Time of Cholera because I did not read the book so I was not comparing episode from the movie to episodes to the novel, i.e. was there a parrot in the novel or not?
Of course, I liked it because the music was from Colombia and many Colombians and my friend GS have those classic and popular songs that were played in the movie.

10 being the highest, I give Love in Time of Cholera an 8.5 because they failed to mention arepas de huevo, caribañolas, mojarra frita and mazamorra.

I saw it, it was okay. I love the book. The movie skimmed too many elements of the book and missed its soul. The script made America Vicuna a college girl. Beautifully photographed; not much Cartagena but enough river and countryside. . My friends who had not read the book liked it but didn't love it either. Well cast and well acted. The Shakira soundtrack was great. I give it a 7. If you are a Gabo fan you will see it regardless.

If the movie cost $45 to $50 million USD to make and after two weeks it's only brought in $4 million, I think it's going to be considered a commercial flop.

FYI, "Maria Full of Grace" has grossed $12.5 million.
