Can anyone recommend any good guide books with city maps, or just plain city maps so I can navigate this city? Also, there has to be a better way of knowing which collectivos or busetas to take without having to ask randomn people all the time if they know exactly what the bus route is. Something like the NYC subway or bus map that shows point A to point B of every route imagineable, perhaps? Also, ideas on where to obtain them is helpful like the Panamericana in Chapinero, etc... because I have already checked book stores and not been successful. THANKS!

They tell you exactly where they make ALL their turns on the route (for the most part) :))) If you are going all over the city into unknown neighborhoods it's probably not a bad idea to ask people and maybe even see if you can get someone to help flag the right one down for you.

Gator says on Oct 21, 2005, 18:50: The One We... recommend to friends is, strangely enough, called "BOGOTÁ." Most of the large bookstores have it. I buy mine at the Liberia National bookstores. In English and Spanish (each language duplicates the other.) Covers restaurants, hotels, food, shopping the TransMilenio, parks, a practical guide, and a great section called "Discovering Bogotá" which has suggested tours both inside and outside of Bogotá, Costs $25.000 cop. The one I visit is at Av Caracas and about say Cl. 67 or 68th. but they are pretty much everywhere. "Credidi pretio parvo emere et magno vendere tibi in animo fuisse!" . 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
